Don’t forget this week is takeout only. Please support takeout restaurants. The new regulations are crushing small business owners that support a huge part of our economy. Try not to support chain restaurants. Remember all the local community members that work at and own small restaurants.

“In 2018 I posted through all of Diabetes Awareness Month and found a unique connection between T1D and the facial hair community.
The owner of @canyouhandlebar, a company that makes mustache wax and other facial hair products reached out to me because he had been seeing all of my posts and one of his main employees is also T1D. Throughout the month I shared the struggles I was dealing with, being un-insured at the time and the financial burden that T1D often is and he really appreciated my advocacy efforts and the content I shared. He jokingly, but in completely honesty said, "I make a lot of money selling beard oil and want to help you, can I send you a check?" I was blown away, humbled, and incredibly appreciative. I used that money to cover some bills, get a medical alert tattoo, and donated some to @t1international for all that they do for patient advocacy and the #insulin4all movement.” - @daveshirer

“I started the Instagram @mt.glucose in November 2018 after starting a CGM for the first time. My wild graphs reminded me of mountain ranges, so I used my own and got submissions from others and superimposed the CGM graph over a real mountain range. It has been a really fun project for me and puts the daily experience of a T1D into a different perspective that others can sort of understand. We feel like we've literally climbed those peaks after a long day of blood sugars that won't cooperate.
I've been on hiatus from that account for a while since moving cross-country and starting a new job, but really want to get back to it.” - @daveshirer

Name: Dave Age: 32 Year Diagnosed: 1997 Location: Tempe, Az
“I'm forever grateful to the Diabetic Online Community because I went nearly 2 years without insurance and completely relied on the kindness of strangers to get supplies. I posted on Twitter in February, 2018 and got several shares and replies from people all over the country that were willing and able to send me supplies and insulin.
Now that I have insurance and can get my supplies I try to help others as I can since I was helped so much."
