🌎🦖 TAKING TERRITORY THROUGH EXPOSURE! 🚀🌿

Today our campers had an incredible opportunity to visit The Schiele Museum of Natural History & Planetarium in Gastonia as part of our Taking Territory Exposure Tour this summer!

Our students explored history, discovered incredible wildlife, and experienced nature firsthand as they hiked the museum’s beautiful nature trails. 🌳🦌 They also traveled beyond Earth in the planetarium, where they learned about the wonders of space and the vast universe God created. 🌎✨🪐

At Next Generation Academy, we believe that exposure creates opportunity. Every new experience broadens a child’s perspective, sparks curiosity, and helps them dream bigger than their current surroundings. We aren’t just taking field trips—we’re taking territory by expanding minds, building confidence, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank you to the staff at The Schiele Museum for providing such an engaging and educational experience for our campers. We can’t wait to see where our next adventure takes us!

🌱☀️ There’s just something special about being outdoors.

This summer, our campers have been getting their hands dirty by planting seeds, watering them, and learning how to care for a garden. We want to give a huge thank you to Salisbury High School for allowing us to use this garden space. We are incredibly excited to see what grows in the weeks ahead!

But this lesson is about more than vegetables and flowers. 🌿

Our students are learning the value of patience, responsibility, and delayed gratification. In a world that wants everything instantly, gardening teaches us that growth takes time. You plant the seed, tend to it faithfully, water it consistently, and trust the process—even when you can’t see results right away.

That’s the same approach we take with our young people. ❤️

At Next Generation Academy, we’re planting seeds of faith, leadership, character, and confidence. We may not see the full harvest today, but we believe that with love, guidance, and consistency, these students will grow into strong leaders who make a positive impact on the world around them.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 🌱

🥣⚡️ Fueling Future Leaders One Bite at a Time! ⚡️🥣

This week at Next Generation Academy Summer Camp, our campers stepped into the role of nutritionists and chefs during our Energy Ball Challenge! 💪🏾🍓🍯

Every camper started with a healthy foundation of oats, sunflower butter, and honey, then got creative by customizing their own energy balls with ingredients that matched their personal tastes while also adding important nutrients. 🌟

Through this hands-on activity, students learned how to:
✅ Build healthy snacks with simple ingredients
✅ Identify sources of protein for muscle growth and recovery 💪🏾
✅ Add natural energy from fruits 🍓🍇
✅ Include healthy fats that help fuel the body and brain 🧠
✅ Make nutritious choices without sacrificing flavor 😋

One of our goals at camp is to help students understand that healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated. By allowing them to create their own recipes, they were able to explore nutrition, creativity, and confidence all at the same time.

At Next Gen, we’re not just teaching kids what to eat—we’re teaching them how to make healthy choices that can last a lifetime. ❤️

🎉 Week One is in the Books! 🎉

What a fantastic start to the Next Generation Academy Summer Camp! This year’s theme is “Taking Territory,” and the first territory we were able to take was the Greensboro Science Center. 🌎🦈🦒

Our students had an amazing experience exploring the aquarium, visiting the zoo, and creating lifelong memories with their friends. More importantly, they were able to learn, grow, and experience new opportunities outside of the classroom.

These scholars are the future leaders of tomorrow, and we are grateful for every opportunity to pour into their lives. We thank God for the privilege of serving our community and helping shape the next generation of leaders.

The journey is just getting started! 💙💛

🌈 God Keeps His Promises 🌈

At summer camp last week, our students dove into a beautiful project on the rainbow—not just as a burst of color, but as a symbol of God’s eternal promise.

We connected this hands-on activity to the story of Noah’s Ark in Genesis 9:13-17, where God places a rainbow in the sky as a sign of His covenant — a promise never to flood the earth again.

“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” — Genesis 9:13 🌦️

Our students learned that the rainbow is more than a science lesson — it’s a faith lesson. It reminds us that even after storms, God is faithful, and His promises still stand. 🙏

We want our campers to know: They are part of that promise — covered by grace, chosen for purpose, and destined for greatness.
