We have only a few more scenes to be shot for my new project “Invisible Commonalities” with my friend @saradelahaya

I am excited to share this story, (a little nervous too 😅) BUT more so ready to usher in a new era of vulnerability on my end and implementing it into my craft.

This has been a risky step into uncharted land and I hope that people can find themselves in it somewhere 🙏🏽

Imma be real for a second, I’m the type of person that overthinks his work so much that I tend to scrap everything I do. It’s a trait I vowed to overcome, this year? Soon? Idk but I decided I’m not gonna live in it.

I’ve applied new routines in an attempt to override my counter intuitive thoughts and continue to ideate, create, and finish.

It’s fun, and I’ve come to understand that’s the main criteria, at least for me. Im a machine maker. I like to build conveyor belts filled with content, only executing ideas that are quick and garner results. All at the expense of my passion. Not anymore though. I’ve committed myself not to a posting schedule but to truthfulness, uncomfortableness, and ultimately passion.

Because, what is this if I lose passion? A job. Something I’ve worked so hard to blur into my passion.

That being said, I’m focused heavily on the film look, what makes it and how I can apply it to my work. Here are a few jabs at that using the BMPCC6k Pro.

I've had a front row seat to his new approach to music and this guy is coming in 2022.... with heaters

I wrote a version of this poem in high school. On a particularly brave day, I even performed that version on a whim at an open mic night in college. The physical copy was long gone, but the words were still stuck in my head even after all that time. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
For some reason, though, it was never quite right. It needed work, and I think I needed a little more love and loss in my life to get it there.
⁣
All this to say - be encouraged. Like this poem, some things take time to work out. Maybe even a decade and a lot of hardships to work out. I’ve thought so many times in my life that I was so miserable and broken-hearted that I might just die. Your girl is still here to tell the tale! ⁣
