Farmed oysters begin as “seed,” tiny baby oysters (spat) about the size of a grain of sand, raised in a hatchery. Farmers move them into mesh bags, cages, or upwellers in the bay. For the next 18 months to 3 years they grow by filtering seawater. Through all of it, farmers are out in every kind of weather. They flip bags, sort the oysters by size, clear away seaweed and barnacles, and keep an eye on water quality. OystHer skincare uses these shells as there hero ingredients in our skincare products, check us out Shop link in bio: https://www.oyst-herskincare.com. #capecod#oysters#smallbusinessowner#cleanbeauty#knowwhatyouputonyourskin

Did you know October is one of the best months to eat oysters? As the water cools, oysters store glycogen (their natural sugars) to get ready for winter hibernation. That makes them sweeter and more flavorful in October, November and December. Come taste the candies of the ocean at Shuckfest 🦪
Stop by our table to learn how oyster shell powder gives your skin a gentle, natural exfoliation and the best sea glow We’ll have our Cape Cod shell and sugar body scrubs, including Awaken, Rest + Relax and Driftwood. Shop link in bio: www.oyst-HerSkinCare.com

Oyst-Her Skin Care begins with reclaimed oyster shells inspired by the Cape Cod coast. We carefully transform them into a fine, natural exfoliating ingredient, then fold them into our signature whipped shell & sugar scrub .
The result: a coastal body treatment that helps gently polish away dry, dull skin while leaving your skin feeling soft, smooth, and ready to glow.
Use it before shaving for a smoother-feeling canvas and a more comfortable razor glide. then rinse and enjoy that fresh-from-the-shore softness.
Small batch. Coastal inspired. Made with intention. #oysters#skincareroutine#cleanbeauty#smallbusinessowner#oysterfest Shop link in bio; free gift with online purchases!!!!

In warm months, oysters spend their energy reproducing which depletes glycogen and can leave them thin, watery, and “soft” or bland. Once water temperatures drop in fall, spawning stops, and oysters shift into storage mode= sweeter oysters or fattening up on glycogen before winter dormancy. That stored glycogen is what gives cold-weather oysters their characteristic plump, firm texture and sweeter, richer, nuttier flavor. #oysterfarm#nutrionist#holisticwellness#skin #skincareroutine
