Happy birthday to my wonderful 1st cousin Bobby Skafish! Everyone, let's all wish Bobby a great day and year ahead, as we salute his contributions to radio and as an author! It's always great to acknowledge Larry Mysliwiec, one of the greatest drummers in rock music and celebrate his birthday! Joining my band in the Spring of 1976, Larry already had a bachelor's degree in percussion from DePaul university. His musical technique was phenomenal, but there were extra gifts he brought to the band that no other drummer I knew could have. He didn't drink or do drugs. He had a furious and intense musical energy that allowed him to play songs such as Sign of the Cross that other drummers couldn't do. And, he stayed in fantastic shape, becoming a bodybuilder. He, alone, could propel the energy of the band and with everybody else in the group being so exceptional, our performances had a mixture of atomic primal energy and classical precision. And, as many of you know, Larry went on to play for Iggy Pop. Let’s all salute Larry and wish him a fantastic day and year ahead! Honoured to be part of this compilation from @uglypoprecords. Never recorded a cover before, but if there was ever a band to break that streak for, it was @jawbreakerband. Really wild to end up on a vinyl comp with so many killer Toronto bands and musicians that have kept this city loud for years. Also got to rip vocals on “White Minority” with @cultcrimeband which was pure volume, blown-out throats, and a genuinely perfect time. Thanks to our first customer @rogue.tenant
