Living out another dream on set. 🎬✨

I had the best time filming a commercial for @ziahomes in El Paso, Texas! From meeting new people to learning more about the production process, every moment was an amazing experience.

A huge thank you to @david_a.saenz, @melody_rose_rey, and @dominique.bm for allowing me to be part of this project, and to the incredible cast and crew for making it such a fun and memorable day on set. I’m so grateful for opportunities like this and can’t wait to see the final commercial! 🏡❤️ @mslizajanel

Happy 2025! What a great year 2024 was!

I knew it would be different leaving college, but nothing could have prepared me for what was to come. I mean, I went to 2 countries!

Being done with school meant the only consistent thing I knew was over, and that took a lot of getting used to, as did the pressure to perform for my parents when I moved back home. I didn’t want to feel like an unemployed freeloader. I felt like I had to live up to the expecation that you should have a career job immediately after getting a degree. I knew I would be busy during the summer with Aptive coming up, but from January to April that pressure said I HAD to figure things out.

The community I also grew to love was no longer easily accessible. But thankfully I found a new one. Doing YoungLife at APU gave me a love for high schoolers. So I started leading at my church, and there I found a community of great people that pushed me to Spiritual conviction and helped heal the doubts that came with being a recent graduate.

But time was moving fast. I had two options: 1) put 50% into freelance editing now and 50% into summer prep only to achieve half the results on both or 2) give 100% into summer. I chose option 2, and with all my preparation I had my best summer to date with over $230k sold. Michigan was awesome. Having a team of 30 was a bit hectic but it meant I was never bored. My biggest takeaway this summer was realizing that to me, sales isn’t just a job, it is another passion.

The final third of this year taught me that as long as the bills are paid, the sky is the limit. Being done with school doesn’t mean you have to stop learning. September brought the desire to learn Spanish with the goal of fluency. In October I bought a nice camera and built a website. November provided a new community of creators. And December was chalk-full of film projects.

“This year, I vow to keep learning. I will embrace my own unique path and I won’t let my weaknesses stop me from pursuing the life I want to live. I will achieve things only dreamed of before, and I won’t try to do it all alone.”

I want to start a videography business. I also want to keep selling. 2025 won’t be missing either.

In The Fourth | Director of Photography
So thankful for the opportunity to visually create this story! Having been 1st AC and 2nd AC many times, I knew I had to get my hands on the camera. This project had many highs and lows, but I was able to learn how to lead my team, teaching others their roles, and the amount of strength I needed that I didn’t fully have.
Overall, I learned many lessons and skills that will help me in the future. Can’t wait for this project to premiere in May!
Shout out to everyone who helped out on set! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Some takeaway’s from the photo session and bts we did for @david_a.saenz Junior Advanced Production for our Warner Brothers’s program this past spring. Last fall I got the opportunity to join David’s story as the Director of Photography and then later in the Spring for our premiere I also came on to do additional photography for promotional purposes as well as poster designs for the @kiekfilm .

An amazing team and a fun experience.
