To close the presentation of Letters // Letters, we are also introducing the publication produced alongside the exhibition, with a cover by @ch.flamand and graphic design by @sam.evers.

For @cambier.emma and me, writing and research are always part of the process. They allow us to question ourselves, to capture fragments of our lives, and to examine them from different perspectives in order to better understand them.

Our projects try to maintain a balance between personal narrative and research. We often rely on literary, philosophical and sociological references because for us ideas are not only meant to be expressed, they also need to be constructed and placed in dialogue with other thoughts, histories and practices.

In this exhibition, references such as The Fetish: Literature, Cinema, Visual Art by Massimo Fusillo, Douleur exquise by Sophie Calle, Obsolete Objects in the Literary Imagination by Francesco Orlando, or The System of Objects by Jean Baudrillard helped shape the conceptual ground of the project. We could also mention the photographic work of Diana Markosian and the broader artistic universe of Gisèle Vienne.

Once this narrative structure begins to take form, the corpus of works for the exhibition can emerge. Each part of the text enters into dialogue with the artists’ works, creating a space where narrative and artworks unfold together.

To immerse the reader in the heart of the project: memory and personal history, the publication also includes scans of personal letters, objects and drawings. These are not simply meaningful objects; they are fragments that are vital to our identities.

In the end, what matters most is simple: to live, to share, and to create together. No one ever said this would be easy, but every project remains an opportunity to collaborate with artists, work with friends and create new encounters.

And that is something we never want to lose.

Letters // Letters opens on 01.22 at Fondation Carrefour des Arts.
Opening 6.30 pm
Performance by @cambier.emma 7.30 - 7.40 pm

Our group show questions our relationship to letters.

In connection with the exhibition, we’re creating a publication that explores this theme: why we chose each artwork and each artist for the show, and how letters resonate through our personal stories, influences, and references.

At the heart of the publication, you’ll find personal archival scans from the Collective, alongside works by @ericpougeau31, @janakatanic, @sofiapashaei, @toan.daubin,@selmathies,@cambier.emma and @david_dienstag

The cover features a work by @ch.flamand.
Graphic design by @sam.evers.

Come by and see the show — we can’t wait to welcome you.
