POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

𖣂 home grown / grafted in 𓆱 Here are the fine folks who are about to make our tenth annual festival a favorite memory for so many. As always, we are privileged to present an eclectic mix of perspectives & expressions!

The supportive roots of this NoCo Fest have already begun:
𖣂 musicians are offering to play in each other’s bands
𖣂 makers are offering to share resources
𖣂 former vendors are signing up to host new ones

No competition or pretense, only welcome & encouragement.

We want you to share in this very special experience. Even if you only have time to stop by for an hour, we encourage you to work NoCo Fest 2026 into your plans for November. We promise you won’t regret it—on the contrary, it will likely be one of the coolest events you do all year!

In the meantime, you know the drill:
MAKE friends! SHARE the posts! FOLLOW art accounts!

Detroit Music Scene - I’ve heard this song sung three times now by @lee.mccoy1 and each and every time he makes me cry. I’ve lost so many loved ones and this song just resonates with me on so many levels. The song was written for his wife a lovely woman I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting, so it’s no wonder he wrote such a moving song about her. It pained me to cut the song down and not share the whole one, but please take a moment to listen to the words and see if his music moves you too. So incredibly beautiful. Go give him a follow as I hope more and more of his music comes to the surface.

Detroit Music Scene - it’s been a while since I’ve shared my buddy @brionriborn He is an incredibly kind man and an amazing musician/producer who plays around town and fosters so many other musicians development. Here is a snippet of him singing a song @copperhopbrewing from the archives of his teenage years. Brion is a LARGE part of the start of me getting back on my musical journey for which I am forever grateful. It’s him who suggested going to @ghostlightbar three and a half years ago for their open mic. It opened up my eyes to all the amazing singer songwriters working on their songs in a friendly environment and listening room and the rest was history. It’s the origin story of my involvement with the Detroit Music Scene. A big thank you goes out to him. I hope you’ll go to his page, give him and his group @barelyonmusic a follow. Go check out some of their music on bandcamp and show some love 🩵🫶🏼🤍

Detroit Music Scene - @davidbenjaminhaven This one might not be a song but I found it valid to share… as every song comes from an emotion. And what is a song, but spoken words that are put to music to help convey that emotion. This is the first time I’ve heard David share spoken word before singing and I really enjoyed it. It was deep, vulnerable and like most things we all ponder at some point.. it was about love and when will the right love find us. And as part of his words, I thought it was beautiful that he offers up that maybe it will find us when we are ready for it and have learned to be what love needs to thrive.. and until then we pray that it comes to us.

Breedlove C250/CME for @davidbenjaminhaven!

This one came in for some fret work and a setup. It had considerable wear in the first five frets. After taking some measurements I noted the lowest points still had .038” left so I decided to move forward with a level, crown and polish rather than a partial refret. Next, I slimmed down the shim in the saddle, cleaned out a bunch of debris from the sound hole, tightened the jack and tested the battery. Beyond that it got a detailed cleaning and setup and is now playing and sounding great!
