Monday blues…. And just like that it’s fireplace season again…. Did you know you can have one in any apartment in New York City (and elsewhere of course) if you install a @hearthcabinet ventless model, customized to your needs… when we started working on our Upper East Side project we had a long wall in the Living Room and no architectural interest. We decided to create two niches and a fireplace wall in the center - just deep enough to house the mechanics… Let us know how we can help incorporate a ventless fireplace in your interior (or exterior)… we successfully integrated some in projects! 📸 @davidengelhardt

The kitchen is the heart of the Rue showhouse in Dallas. "The use of white oak, Calacatta Viola countertops, and a backsplash creates a timeless elegance," designer Josh Collins says. A Venetian plaster hood contrasts with the white oak, while the linen pendants add a soft touch. And yes, there is a hidden scullery equipped to be used as a true second kitchen. Cassie Rosenthal had a clear vision for her apartment re-do with designer @nateberkus: Parisian in spirit, mid-century in its bones, layered with vintage lighting and, most importantly, an art collection she’d spent decades building. The living room is punctuated with a pair of Lordan Bunch-painted portraits, a duo that has been in Cassie’s collection for nearly a quarter century. The kitchen is the heart of the Rue showhouse in Dallas, with hardworking appliances from @thermadorhome both in the kitchen and the hidden scullery. “The use of white oak, Calacatta Viola countertops, and a backsplash creates a timeless elegance,” designer Josh Collins (@jcollinsinteriors) says. “Every single finish was meticulously chosen to create this balanced space.” A Venetian plaster hood contrasts with the white oak, while the linen pendants from @hinkleylighting add a soft touch. And yes—we said hidden scullery, which is equipped to be used as a true second kitchen. “These spaces are often overlooked but I’d like to say we created a chef’s dream,” Josh says. This room features @thermadorhome appliances as well, including a generous wine cooler. Plumbing fixtures are @brizofaucet, hardware is @emtek_products, and scullery tile is @annsacks. See it now at ruemag.com. Story by @kellilamb_ Interior Design by @jcollinsinteriors Build by @kehomesdfw Produced by @dannyseomag Photography by @davidengelhardt

Wallpaper Wednesday… We live for pattern and pattern with pattern, so in this Powder Bath we decided to use wallpaper and the matching fabric on the shower curtain… we’re also partial to lips 👄 and even better when they have legs like in @kelly_gilleran world … 📸 @davidengelhardt

At the Rue Showhouse in Dallas, designer @jcollinsinteriors and builder @kehomesdfw created a primary bathroom like you’ve never seen before. (Why yes, that is a @thermadorhome espresso machine and beverage fridge!) Josh used tile and stone from @annsacks on the floors, walls, countertops, and moldings for a dramatic look. Hardware by @emtek_products finishes the look. The pass-through shower features fixtures from @brizofaucet. There are two (!!) impressive dressing rooms by @caclosets that feature a mix of open and closed shelving and hidden jewelry storage. With @hinkleylighting and a custom @wallsnobs wallpaper overhead, it’s less like a closet and more like a high-end boutique. Or, you can take your coffee and skincare to the private patio decked out in @brownjordan1945 furniture and @bromic_heating for the colder months. We could live in just this suite, but the rest of the house is pretty great too. See it in our fall issue—on newsstands now. The calendar might say fall, but we’re still holding onto a few sweet scenes from summer—including the backyard at the Rue Showhouse in Dallas, Texas. Designed by @jcollinsinteriors and built by @kehomesdfw, luxury living is at the heart of every space. Naturally, furniture from @brownjordan1945 was a no-brainer for the outdoor spaces. “The ease of the powder-coated aluminum from a longevity and cleanability is key for our clients,” Josh says. “I also love their textiles because they are so easy to coordinate with what I’m doing on the interiors.” See more in our fall issue—on newsstands now.
