I just want all three of you to know how incredibly proud I am of you. Watching each of you graduate is such a huge accomplishment, and I hope you take a moment to realize just how far you’ve come. You all deserve to celebrate this moment because you’ve earned it.
Daven, I am so unbelievably proud of you. I know without a doubt that you’re going to do amazing things in life. You’re so strong, smart, and determined, and I truly believe this is only the beginning of everything you’re capable of accomplishing. Never stop believing in yourself because I will always believe in you.
JayJay, I strive to be more like you every day. Your work ethic, your honesty, and the passion you have for sports are things I admire so much. You inspire me to work harder and be a better person. I know you’re going to continue achieving great things because you never stop giving your all.
David, I am beyond proud of you. Seeing how far you’ve come with wrestling has been incredible. Your dedication, discipline, and perseverance have gotten you to where you are today, and I know you have an even brighter future ahead. Keep chasing your dreams because I know you’ll accomplish so much.
Congratulations on graduating. This is such a special milestone, and I couldn’t be happier for each of you. No matter where life takes you next, I’ll always be cheering you on and supporting you. New York State Championships — MVP Arena, Albany 🏆

Proud moment for David Gonzalez (William Floyd Wrestling) finishing 6th in New York State at 190 lbs.
The grind, the battles, and the heart it takes to stand on the state podium are something most people never see. Respect to every wrestler who stepped on that mat.

Left my mark.

This journey has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. I thank God for watching over me and keeping me healthy throughout it. To my family, thank you for the endless support and patience. To Coach Murtha, Mecca, Cos, Ray, and Croteau — thank you for your guidance and for mentoring me not only in the skills of wrestling, but in the skills of life. To my teammates, there isn’t another group of guys I would rather push myself with. From running the halls, to Siting the bleachers all day, to the intense handball games — the memories and brotherhood we built will always hold a special place in my heart. Making history with you guys is more than I could have ever asked for. It was an honor leading you guys as captain. I love you all forever. This sport taught me discipline, integrity, and resilience and I’ll forever be in debt to the sport of wrestling. It was a privilege representing Section XI and, most of all, being a Colonial.

Thank you, William Floyd Wrestling ❤️

Well, The kid completed his HS senior season and what a season it was!!!

40-9 season
1st in Division 1 League tournament. (All League)
2nd place in the Suffolk county D1 Championship
(State qualifier) (All County)
6th place @ 190lb in his first (and last) NYSPHSAA division 1 championship tournament after going 4-3. (All State)

And his family was with him EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!!!

Congratulations @davidgonz_83 on your successful Senior season.

We could not be more proud of you! Bigger things are ahead for you as long as you are dedicated and work hard just as you have this wrestling season and throughout your wrestling career where you compiled a 96-29 win-loss record.

I know I've said this several times this year, but I want to thank the coaches one last time for all they have taught, all they have given and the precious time they spent with David and the William Floyd wrestling team! I cannot say enough good things about you wonderful gentlemen who gave David a second family!!!

Thank you:

Without you all, he would not be the wrestler or man he has become!

David wrestled his ass off in the NYSPHSAA Boys Wrestling championship. Ultimately he took 6th place after back to back losses.

It was an emotional end to David's HS wrestling career.

We could not be more proud of David, as in every win and loss he showed humility and sportsmanship. Even if it was missing from some of his opponents.

Thank you to William Floyd Colonials wrestling, @murtha.michael
