Chicago was such a great start to our season 😮‍💨

FEVA having multiple teams taking different courts, in different divisions was an amazing sight to see and be apart of. The growth of the teams and the skills of our boys are going to be unmatched.

Thank you to our phenomenal coaches and kiddos this tourney. You all did an amazing job and the growth seen in this tournament only has us so much more excited for Los Angela's tourney in just 1 month. Watching each one of you try to make time to support eachother's court made everything so much better.

I’m 25 today.
I’ve always been the kind of person who never wanted to grow up. Honestly, I’ve cried on almost every birthday. Every year, without fail, I end up reflecting on where I am in life versus where I thought I’d be by now.

Truthfully, I’m not exactly where I imagined I’d be… but I’ve come to realize that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I trust that the universe — that God — has a plan for me. I’m learning to walk with faith, to appreciate where I am instead of mourning where I’m not.

It’s so easy to fall into the trap of comparison, but we don’t always see the battles others are fighting behind the scenes. I’ve been guilty of being too hard on myself, of struggling in silence, of not asking for help when I really needed it. But lately, I’m learning. Learning how to accept love, compliments, support — and not feel awkward or undeserving of them.

For most of my life, I didn’t really care much for birthdays. But as I’ve grown older (and hopefully a little wiser), I’ve come to see them differently. Now, I view my birthday as a day to celebrate everything this past year has brought — the growth, the lessons, the love, the laughter, the chaos, and the quiet, beautiful moments shared with the people who matter most.

This year has already been a rollercoaster — full of stress and anxiety. I’m beyond grateful for the friends and family who have lifted me, believed in me, and reminded me of my worth. Y’all give me the courage to keep dreaming big, even when the world feels heavy.

As a Mexican immigrant, a Dreamer on DACA, and a gay man, my heart aches for what so many of us are facing right now. But I still believe in the power of community. We need each other now more than ever. We are the people — and we are stronger together.

So, to everyone who’s reached out, thank you for the birthday love.
Here’s to more life, more lessons, and more joy on this beautiful, complicated, magical planet we all call home.
