We recently bought a new welcome mat for our home because the old one was so worn out that the “welcome” letters were completely gone. Gracie came to visit and said: Mom, you need a new welcome mat! So I bought one and sent her this pic. I was just scrolling through my photos and started to delete it when I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to my heart, “Nicole, it’s time to welcome the new things I want to do in you.”

If you know me, you know that I love deep and I hold tight. I’ve never been a fan of the “new” and it takes me a bit of time to adjust to transitions in my life. In the past several years I’ve experienced layers of loss, and particularly this past year, David and I have walked through challenging times and we have surrendered some things we felt the Lord asking us for — and it seems that the grief of these last several years has caught up with me. I feel pretty exhausted and find myself clinging to what is behind me.

Maybe you’ve been in a similar season, and perhaps this same word is for you: “It’s time to welcome the new things God wants to do in you.” Pray this with me: Holy Spirit, I welcome the new things🕊️

I went down “memory lane” with photos for this post because you’ve been part of our family for over SIX years now, and we’ve all done a whole lotta life together, and you have been such a BLESSING to us, dear daughter. I know your Mom & Dad are watching from heaven and are SO PROUD of the woman, wife, and mother you are. WE LOVE YOU!!!!

What have we been up to, you ask?! We have been building @covenantschoolofministry Worship Arts Program, launching January 2027! We are delighted to be working with Dr. @jeffreycgarner and Pastor @mikehayesorg to disciple the next generation of church leaders — this program/schedule is doable for any season of life you are in! Our fav. girl turned 1 yesterday and we had the pleasure of celebrating with most of our friends and family, today! Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and celebrate our girl! We love our “village”!
