Day 5 started with a brutally steep hike up to Brewster hut near Haast Pass. 3k feet in about a mile and a half. Seems to be a theme with these New Zealand hikes 😂Our legs are feeling it every day. Absolutely stunning views once we approached and passed the hut. Fun fact: New Zealand has over 900 of these huts in their mountains. That blows my mind. Definitely will be back to spend some nights in them in the future.
After that hike on Thursday we headed towards Wanaka. One of my favorite things about Instagram is when people reach out while I’m traveling to connect. @georgieburdon invited us to come see her family farm and stay at the beautiful Swiss style log cabin seen in some of these photos. Such a cool experience to learn more about the Ag culture and business in New Zealand while seeing the beauty of their land. We also randomly got to meet @davidmrule . Someone’s work I idolized when I first started to post my work on Instagram. He’s extremely good at what he does and it was so fun to hear about his most recent project. Great dude. Better go subscribe to his YouTube to see the awesome video he’ll be putting out in a few months. Thank you Georgie for your hospitality and kindness. Gained another friend from across the world. I love people. The beauty of the Earth and the kindness in people are two of the ways I see God’s hand in my life the most. I am grateful :)
