David Wilman had one tightly scheduled day to photograph Nineteen Wells Street, SODA's £3 million renovation of a 1929 Art Deco office in London's Fitzrovia. The two-floor design looks back to the district's past as home to leather workers, wallpaper makers and coffee houses. David planned the shoot around the sun's angles for the ground floor and used softer LED circuits on the lower level, which gets no daylight. His assistant set up a lamp on a four-meter stand as a fake sun for the tea station, and that shot became David's favorite of the day. The series earned an Honorable Mention at the 2026 International Photography Awards.⁣⁣ 📌 London, United Kingdom⁣⁣⁣⁣ 📸 @davidwilman_studio⁣⁣ For @sodalondon⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Credits:⁣⁣ Photography Assistant & BTS: @ravi.chandarana⁣⁣ Read more on our blog. #WonderfulMachine #FindPhotographers A tea station with rust-red cabinets, open shelves and a white island with two woven-seat stools, set on a red, pink and mustard checked tile floor.

@moonstruck.cafe came into existence through a love of coffee and café culture, which I define as the beautiful feeling of a café space and the experiences you can have there. My partner and I spent over a decade exploring and enjoying the evolving café scene in London. It was our hobby. Whenever we had a chance to check out a new place or visit an old favourite, we were there. I think this is what has made us a little different. Coming from the customer side of the scene, combined with the fact that we have our own interior design studio, means it’s a very customer- and design-centric café. We’re based in a residential location, so a lot of our customers live nearby and are regulars. We get to know everyone and feel like we’re building a community. Also, a lot of care was taken with the ergonomics of the bar during the design process, so the baristas very much enjoy the ease of flow when working in the café. We have an excellent reputation for our filter coffee, which comes highly recommended, especially for customers who are used to ordering espresso-based black coffee, such as Americanos or long blacks, from their regular spot. We found very quickly that our seats were filling up and that we needed more space. A room at the back, which was initially imagined as a cloakroom, was transformed into an informal seating area with low benches, stools, a rug and paper lanterns to soften the mood. It also became the place for my long-gathered sticker collection to live and is therefore now known as the sticker room. I had the opportunity to explore local cafés in Madrid, which were excellent. It was inspiring to see their approach, from cool interiors and delicious coffee to their brewing methods. We have an art gallery in the basement called @underthespell_artspace, which a lot of visitors never realise exists despite the signage we have. The art space is run by my friend @jvarrichio, an art curator from Brazil now living in London. –Liam Clifford // @liam_coffee Photos by @davidwilman_studio

At Moonstruck we like to create a relaxed, friendly environment to enjoy a coffee and good company. It’s a space where you can slow down and take a moment. Photographer David Wilman visited the cafe recently, and captured these beautiful shots on a Hasselblad with Tri-X 400 film. David: “Analogue photography represents a slower pace, taking a moment to think about what it is you wish to capture. It’s about intention, reflection and the non-instant gratification once you press the button.”

We’re incredibly proud to share our brand new London studio, within the @matrix.studios.ldn Our goal was to create a space that feels calm, warm, and inviting, a studio that supports seamless technical integration and exceptional sound, without ever feeling overwhelming. Somewhere you can settle in, focus, and create with ease. Shaped by a carefully considered architectural and acoustic vision from @levelacoustic , and realised through high-end build and finishes by @westwoodjoineryservices the studio balances technical audio precision with a warm, human feel. Natural materials, warm wood tones, and a clean, considered layout were carefully chosen to create a sense of comfort and clarity, while pops of colour and texture add character and personality throughout. At the heart of the studio is a 7.5.4 @pmcspeakers Dolby Atmos system, with expert wiring and technical studio integration by @kingwalker.ltd The space is organised across a thoughtfully designed three-room layout: a control room, creative office, and an isolated vocal booth with connecting hallway each designed to support modern production and creative flow. We’re incredibly excited for this next chapter and want to thank the wonderfully talented people and teams who worked on the studio with us, helping bring our vision to life. WHISE, London. A seamless threshold, a wall of light, and a horizon that stretches to France. Behind this serene space were weeks of detailing - aligning levels, refining drainage falls + protecting every millimetre to keep the view uninterrupted. The result feels effortless, but the process was anything but. Proof that the simplest spaces often demand the most care. -- 📷 @davidwilman_studio

Perched at the top of the house, this extraordinary bedroom has nothing but sea views between you and neighbouring France. Floor to ceiling glass across the bedroom continues round into an open shower. The sea, treetops + sky flood this room with light, scent + sound. A sensual experience, connecting you with an honest sense of seasonality, inviting nature back in. The Architecture is generous and soft; wrapped in warm beachy tones, a sandy terrazzo floor + clay like mortex walls. Scroll through for some before / progress images + below for kind words. -- "I have just returned from my stay at the house, and I am blown away! What an incredible space to live in. What I really love about the house, is that it's full of natural texture. Every wall, piece of furniture, floor, light switch (I could go on) etc, has its own individual look and feel. You get a real sense of being part of the natural world, which probably adds to the sense of calm I get spending time there" - Client 📷 @davidwilman_studio 🔨 @pahollingworth

The challenge of constraints; this stair was a real architectural puzzle to fit within the existing non compliant footprint. The new stair floats through 3 storeys + crafted in European oak allowing light to pour through the centre of the building. The plastered + painted monolithic stair wall ribbon was carefully detailed to meet each existing wall perfectly. We so enjoy the soft light + shadows that gently wash the lime washed walls.
