Live From the Underground: Tampa/St. Pete ‼️OUT NOW‼️ Watch the full episode at YouTube.com/@globalrockunderground or via the link in bio.

Episode 12 documents Tampa/St. Pete’s underground music scene through the promoters, venues, artists, and communities keeping DIY culture alive today.

There’s a deep history here, especially when it comes to hardcore, metal, and skate culture, but what really stood out to me was how much of that history is still connected to what’s happening today.

From legendary venues and skate spots to new bands, tons of promoters (its crazy how many promoters there are), photographers, and people creating spaces for their communities, there’s a real sense of pride in this scene. A place like Skatepark of Tampa should be cherished and protected at all costs.

If you’re a hardcore band that’s not from this area, book a run RIGHT NOW. Seriously. I think Tampa might be the hardcore capital of the world right now. The scene can feel a little more splintered when it comes to other genres, but it’s absolutely still worth coming down and playing here if you connect with the right people.

I had an incredible time exploring Tampa/St. Pete, and I’m grateful to everyone who welcomed me, showed me around, and shared their stories. This episode wouldn’t have been possible without you. Go watch the full thing on YouTube, there’s a lot of love packed into this one.

For anyone new here:
I’m traveling across North America in my van, Big Bertha, documenting underground music scenes through Live From the Underground, a documentary series on YouTube by Global Rock Underground.

Special shoutout to @wolfb1ood and @davied.austin for supplying live footage.

“Tampa Bay. World Capital of Hardcore.” shirt available. DM to purchase.

More episodes coming soon. Tallahassee is up next!

Cheers everyone. Much love and respect.

Tony 🤝💘

#tampa #stpete #floridamusic #tampabay #tampamusic

Still processing all our feelings from last weekend’s album release show @oscuralive of which there are many. Most of all, gratitude that we get to share our music with such a loving, passionate, and forward thinking community.

Thanks so much to @nikoraito, @jaronjam, and @bbgrizzy for sharing the stage with us, and to @mattncheddar for wrangling it all together. Thanks to @moviepropsband, @the_pilotwaves, and @mydeadroommate_band for making some of the most righteous noise out there, and thanks especially to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

The Long Game is out now
