POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We wrote the first demo for “So Long to Yesterday” almost two years ago, only a few months after Dakota’s stroke. At the time, we didn’t know if he would ever return to Hollow Front or if we were even going to be a band for much longer. We just wanted to have fun and make music with our friend again.

A year after we wrote that demo, Dakota officially rejoined Hollow Front and we finished it. Hearing his voice back in the band and watching him continue to recover made the song feel even more special. It felt triumphant.

So when it came time to choose the track we wanted to lead with, starting here felt right. This isn’t the heaviest song we have coming, but it shines a spotlight on Dakota’s voice, his recovery, and everything his return means to us.

This song captures the beginning of that journey, before any of us knew where it was going. Now we finally get to release it with Dakota officially back in the band.

We couldn’t think of a better way to welcome him home than by letting his voice and his story take center stage.

“So Long to Yesterday” is yours at midnight.

@hollowfront - To The Ashes 🔥 I think this is the hardest riff/song I've learned so far. This band is way too underrated.

I don't even know if I'm playing this riff right. So don't judge me too bad haha

🔥 ABOUT VCTMS 🔥

Hailing from Streamwood, Illinois, VCTMS have been pushing the boundaries of modern heavy music since 2013. Blending metalcore, nu-metal, hardcore, groove metal, and hip-hop influences, the band has built a reputation for devastating breakdowns, emotionally honest lyrics, and an intense live show that leaves a lasting impact.

Their growing catalog includes Sickness Vol. I, Vol. II: Inside the Mind, Vol. III: Halfway Happy, Vol. IV: Numb the Ache, Vol. V: The Hurt Collection, and now Pain Processing II—a release that continues their exploration of pain, mental health struggles, and personal growth through crushingly heavy music.

Fans of Alpha Wolf, Emmure, Cane Hill, Sworn In, Paleface Swiss, Veil of Maya, and ten56. will find plenty to love here. Through relentless touring and collaborations with members of Spite, Heavy//Hitter, Extortionist, Fox Lake, and more, VCTMS have cemented themselves as one of the standout acts in today’s nu-metalcore movement.

20+ shows in the books w/ my new friends @vctmsil , I am always extremely grateful to be on the road in any capacity and this tour was no different. We had to deal with a lot as a camp: no generator or a/c all summer, a dead catalytic converter, misfiring cylinders, a shredded tire and more but we did it as a group and were never stopped by any of our obstacles.

Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, a shirt or even just came to say hi when we were in town (visitors are my favorite) because this stuff cant work without the support of a community.

It is time to sit at home and reflect for a few weeks before I go spend July in LA 💫
