Introducing @davis.timko & @matt_zoltan who will be joining us with a B2B in Toronto for METAMORPHOSIS 10.23.2026 From Vancouver, and now based in Montreal, Davis has had a passion for music since he was young. Growing up around jazz and house, it has shaped his multi-genre selections. He started his dance music journey through co-founding Montreal house and techno collective, Common Culture, prior to becoming a member of Concrete Breaks. These two worlds have allowed Davis to blend selections of deep and minimal house, techno, alongside his newfound love for breaks and UK bass. - As one of the curators and organizers for Concrete Breaks, Zoltan’s DJ sets seek to explore the deeper peripheries of UK bass music, weaving in and out of percussive rhythms and low-end grooves to produce moments of unfamiliarity. Interested in the gaps between genre conventions, Zoltan’s leftfield-driven selections sit in the contradictory pockets of angst and elation. However, with taste across breaks, garage, dubstep, electro, jungle, and more, crowd-moving is always the priority, with no reluctance to shell. Originally from Vancouver, he made his start mixing liquid and jungle in Toronto’s drum and bass scene in 2024, subsequently moving into slower tempos and more experimental sounds in the following years. In a showcase b2b with fellow Concrete Breaks curator Davis on October 23rd, expect fluttering breaks and ambient twists that are sure to keep you guessing.

On October 23rd, @dj__sprinter touches down from Oslo, Norway, to deliver his signature sound of experimental breakbeats and low-end grooves. The flyer for Metamorphosis was created intentionally by @ninarossingg to correspond with the key themes and values that inspire this event. Left and centre of the flyer lies a hand-crafted cocoon, made entirely with intentionally selected cut-outs from Nat Geo magazines and scientific publications. The analog-collage technique behind the cocoon speaks to our core belief in process and struggle as not only essential aspects of art, but also to the human experience at large. We are currently undergoing a transformation of the human essence, a technology-driven metamorphosis that we unequivocally reject. The top layer of shades of grey along with the pink lines scattered throughout the piece is pulled from an image of CT scan showing neurons, speaking to the ways in which our brain transforms itself through the process of learning via neuroplasticity. The second layer from the top, taken from an article on viruses and how they conquer immune systems, represents the fortitude of biological processes in achieving their given ends. The third layer, marked by tie-dye patterns and light blue cutouts, is from a profile piece on a researcher that devoted their entire life to studying neural signalling, corresponding with our belief in the beauty of dedication and struggle. The inner green layer, sitting below the rest, comes from a piece on coral reefs and their ongoing discolouration, signifying our betrayal of nature despite being components of its broader system. Importantly, there are several layers that you cannot see; especially, images of human communities pulled from the magazines. The hidden layers are equally a part of the process, even if they are not visible in the final product. This piece was created step-by-step in a thoughtful, curated manner. We believe that amidst a top-down transformation imposed on humanity by so-called visionaries, a positive metamorphosis predicated on a return to process-driven humanism is needed now, more than ever. Join us in embodying these sentiments October 23rd. Ticket link in bio.

This subwoofer addiction is getting out of control. What a weekend. It’s been a dream of ours to play Standard Time since seeing Ben UFO open-to-close in February 2025, a set that changed everything. It’s unbelievable that just over a year later we had the opportunity to bring our vision to this beautiful space @standardtime.to Always a pleasure to take the booth @barbossa.mtl - another unforgettable party in the books. Thank you so much to our communities in both Toronto and Montreal. Couldn’t do any of this without you 💚 Big love to @k_65_uk for making the trip across the pond, and to the rest of the team for their endless hours of hard work. 📸 insane shots @zach.a.r.i.a.h @stephanehurbemtl @pearcetaithomasson

When clustered and disparate, we are alone and in trouble. Yet when connected and in sync with one another, our communities escape the rubble. Transnational solidarity runs deeper than it looks, linking us through our shared emphasis on dance, creativity, and subversion; thus breaking borders and breaking concrete. Huge thank you to @k_65_uk for bridging our scenes between the UK to Canada and showcasing your hypnotic style of breaks and bass. Another shoutout for @standardtime.to for providing us with their wonderful space. This club remains one of the most intentional and well-curated dance floors in Toronto and we cannot do any of this without our fabulous partners! From start to finish, that was a Thursday night for the books. A wide spectrum of the city’s local artists submitted their projects, @circenses___ set the mood with his lighting work, @slatergroves came through with an unforgettable support set of bassy club grooves, and above all else, the community gave us their incredible energy. On a week day night, your contributions to our collective celebration of music and friendship leaves us truly astounded. We are all in this together. This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements. 📸: @zach.a.r.i.a.h

Montreal, we didn’t forget about you. We’re thrilled to announce that we’re bringing Breaking Borders back to where it all started. Joining us all the way from the UK, electro heavyweight K-65 assures a night full of gruesome basslines and pulsating breaks. Breaking Borders is about connecting our shared values to help the movement overcome geographical constraints. It’s about gaining inspiration from our diversity. It’s about bringing new voices into our community to strengthen the local scene. While malignant actors seek to politicize our differences, our strength lies in unity. We encourage everyone to listen to their artistic impulses and contribute to our art exposition. As always, the submission link is in our bio. On support, we’re so excited to have one of Montreal’s perennial suppliers of bass, Runa, along with the usual crew. 100 presale tickets available for $8 on RA to secure your spot (link in bio). The rest will be sold at door for $10.
