Trying to make this guy proud

It has been a full year since I started running consistently and I still don’t know how to explain to people why when they ask the reason I run. It may be the calm of the sunrise and the sound of shoes on pavement that puts you in a trance. The quiet time with God. The clarity you get when in a runners high. The burn of lactic acid filling your legs after 10 800 meter intervals. Seeing places you never would if you didn’t lace up the shoes. Or the people that you get to meet along the way.

Although it is just a hobby at the moment running has taught me more than just how to eat 600 grams of carbs a day to recover. I learned how to show up when I committed to something. It taught me patience because endurance is not built in a week. It has taught me that seeing others achieve and serving others is much more satisfying than achieving or serving myself. And most of all it has taught me that I can offer my body to God as a living sacrifice even in something as simple as running.

“At least when you shoot for the moon you land among the stars”

Excited to push my body to the limits for another year and see where these legs of mine take me. 🏃
