What a magical morning in @kmska_museum in Antwerp to celebrate @harpersbazaarnl newest Art & Interior Special with @voorjans as our cover-star and guest curator of the exhibition In Full Bloom in KMSKA. One of our guests captured it beautifully afterwards: “I would call this nectar for my soul and my entrepreneurship.” A few more quotes that stayed with me after moderating the talk with the following experts: Gert Voorjans, aims to inspire others to step off the beaten path: “That comfort zone is not comfortable at all.” @willems.carmen, General Director of KMSKA since 2020, on the urgency of making a broader audience feel welcome at the museum and how she seeks to involve the KMSKA team in this: “We want everyone to truly engage with the visitor, and to enter into conversation with both visitors and non-visitors to understand what moves them. That is why the slogan ‘You’re not the visitor’ hangs on the walls of our offices.” @anneliesvansantflowers , floral artist, entrepreneur and one of the talents selected by Gert Voorjans to enter into dialogue with a work from the KMSKA collection. Annelies saw her career come into full bloom after she found the courage to start her own business when her health failed her. In flowers, she discovered comfort and inspiration, and she now grows her own blooms sustainably, runs a thriving practice with international commissions, and mentors new talent. For the exhibition, she created a floral artwork inspired by Ode à l’Oubli (2004) by Louise Bourgeois: “There is beauty even in the decay of flowers, where, much like in the artwork, imperfection and structure come together.” Brand direction @tatiana.farag Styling @antheavanmarle @tatiana.farag and I were wearing @maisonlacollection Jewelry: @bibivandervelden, HMU @sharondewinter Photography @martin.pilette.
