Eighth Generation collaborated with NDN Girls Book Club and artist + Dineฬ College graduate Jenabah Yazzie to create STORIES WOVEN IN BLOOM, a gorgeous design merging Kiowa and Dineฬ motifs to celebrate storytelling, kinship, and the concept of doing all we do in beauty. We are so thrilled that folks came to preorder the blanket, which will drop Sept. 10th on @eighthgeneration ๐Ÿ’—๐ŸŒตโœจ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿซง proceeds support the artist & NGBCโ€™s free book giveaways in tribal communities. Lily Painter in the building!!! ๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ Lily is our absolutely fabulous community coordinator and one of the founding members of Book Club. She hails from Anadarko, OK and just graduated from OU with degrees in English and Native American Studies. Lilyโ€™s favorite books range from childrenโ€™s picture books by Madelyn Goodnight (@madelyn_goodnight) to novels by the late N. Scott Momaday, a fellow Kiowa storyteller. She successfully completed her title year as Miss Indian Oklahoma (@missindianokla) with a focus on storytelling and healing, has been a Champ for Change with CNAY (@center4native), and was a UNITY 25 under 25 awardee (@unityinc76). Her multidisciplinary work focuses on how creation, education, community movements and art can detail and address critical contemporary Native issues.
