My beautiful boy moved out today.

What an absolutely mad and brilliant adventure the last 22 years have been! And what a wonderful human being Leon has grown into despite, dare I say it, the fickle and erratic parenting he had to navigate around!
I am of course joking but not entirely... We don't get to be in any way objective about who our children really are until they move out! We are so "in it" as we try to guide them through - and mold ourselves around - their different life phases, and all the while navigating our own. Bloody hell.

I agonised over which photos to post here and why - I either would choose too many or too few. In the end these made through to the final :

1. A cover image that perfectly captures the independence-loving person Leon is and always was.

2. the boys - Eddie, Frank and Leon - outside their new abode.

3. Leon and I. It's only ever been the two of us, mother and son.

4. And the last one, just my beautiful boy.

Now our trajectories part properly and I am full of suspense as to what the next 22 years will bring.

And I am full of love.
