Join The Party - on 24th October 15 acts will take over Sneaky Pete’s and The Mash House for a full day of discovery: Belfast electronic force Mount Palomar brings the Berghain-tested, BBC 6Music-approved live show that’s been making rooms shake across the UK all year; South Wales newcomers Morn, a Great Escape highlight and one of the most thrilling new bands in the country, Dutch indie noir five-piece The Klittens arrive fresh off their debut album; London garage-rock outfit Modern Guilt, championed by Steve Lamacq and John Kennedy, bring the swagger; and Body Horror, who had to pull out of July at the last minute, are back where they belong. Plus ten more acts across the day.

Get To Know The Lineup: We LOVE Day Sleeper and we’re delighted to have them on the bill for October’s Cowgate Block Party. Tickets are on sale now at sneakypetes.co.uk

Leith-based band Day Sleeper exist in an experimental zone between blistering existential heartland rock and dense electronic soundscapes. Theirs is a vibrant, genre-defying world, threaded together in impressionistic narrative by singer-songwriter Leo Bargery’s unique lyricism.

☕️🍺 Tip & Sip with Silas #3

Welcome back to Tip & Sip. (Evening edition)

No gatekeeping. No algorithms. Just a drink, a chat, and an artist I think deserves your attention.

Today we’re sipping on a can of @jubelbeer Grapefruit while listening to @daysleeperisaband and their track Speed of Tragedy.

These guys featured in @nextwavecassettemagazine and they’ve been firmly on my radar ever since.

If you’re into the anthemic energy of Bruce Springsteen or Sam Fender, you’re going to love this.

Big guitars, driving drums, soaring melodies and that huge, heart-on-your-sleeve indie sound that makes you want to wind the windows down and turn it all the way up.

Honestly, it feels like the soundtrack to summer.

Go and give Speed of Tragedy a spin and let me know what you think.

Discover your next favourite band with Next Wave and Chalkpit.

Who’s an artist you’ve discovered recently that more people should know about?
