𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐄𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐫: 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲.

At a moment when the European film industry faces the global dominance of Hollywood and US-based streaming platforms, the book asks a critical question:

⭐️Can the European Union emerge as a global film enabler?

Edited by Antonios Vlassis(@les_invasions_barbares), Marina Rossato Fernandes, @mafaldadms, Katharine Sarikakis and Heritiana Ranaivoson, this volume brings together perspectives on the 🇪🇺evolving position within the global politics and economy of film.

Through analyses of EU audiovisual regulation, the perspectives of European and non-European film professionals and the reception of European films by global audiences, the volume rethinks the EU’s role across the interconnected dimensions of power, competitiveness and identity. It examines its strategic potential to foster cultural diversity, strengthen European cinema and shape global audiovisual governance.

Drawing on contributions from renowned scholars and insights emerging from the Horizon Europe research(@reboot_horizon_europe), the book offers a comprehensive account of the EU’s future as a cultural, economic and geopolitical actor in the global film landscape.

AUGUST ✨

Das hat nur ein paar Jahre gedauert but here we are 👏🏼

It’s not easy to make an immigrant girlie feel completely at home, but you managed to do just that. 😍🥹

Thank you again for the invitation, girls! I had an awesome time with @womenly.y and @hollypilatesvienna and would totally recommend their future events. 💙

Please enjoy this compilation of mostly Rogu content 😇 but seriously, it was such a blessing getting to spend a week with Daisy in Vienna! 17 years of friendship and this is the longest we’ve spent together in 7 years. It can be hard nurturing and strengthening long distance friendships, but we’ve been doing this nearly since we met😎 Thank you to @dayzeiii and @agi.shar for hosting me, thank you @hollypilatesvienna for introducing me to Pilates, and thank you @roguschmogu for being my new friend 🥹 #ballerinacappuccina #mimimimi #baubaubau #chickensintheair

Her background in ballet brings flow and intention, her personality brings fun. You’ll sweat, you’ll smile, and you’ll feel really good about showing up.
