Vesta’s Sculler’s Head 2025

The MAA Senior Squad saw 3 brave rowers take on the 6.8km Championship Course for Scullers Head, yesterday! It’s no easy feat and we’re immensely proud of their achievements.

21 - Dan Roberts - After having a taste of long distance sculling at the Ouse Marathon, Dan brought his scull to the home turf and is ready for more!

193 - Hannah Marescalchi took on Sculler’s Head as a lesson of self discovery and facing fears! Going in with the purpose to just have fun and enjoy it, she’s very pleased to have placed 4th in the Senior Women’s category.

491 - Jennifer Bailey returned to the course for a third time, having previously won the Women’s Novice Pennant in 2022. She brings home another pennant in 2025, this time for Women’s Masters A. 🏆

MAA also had many rowers from the Masters Squad competing this weekend. A special congrats to Daisy Wild for winning the title for W Masters D, and to Blyda for accomplishing her first sculling race in the W Masters Novice category.

Just next weekend we will have many more MAA crews competing at Pairs Head! Well done to our scullers yesterday, and good luck next weekend! 💪🏻

🚣‍♀️ What a way to start the season! Two MAA Senior Squad crews took on the Great Ouse Marathon in Ely — 21.5km of racing, headwinds, and plenty of grit.

🥇The Women’s 4+ (Jen, Katy, Rebecca, Hannah & Alex) stormed the course, winning their category and finishing as the fastest women’s crew of the day.

🥇Dan in the Masters A 1x tackled the marathon solo, taking 1st in his category and placing 5th fastest single overall.

There’s plenty more to come from these crews and many other MAA crews in the season ahead!

Huge congratulations to everyone who raced — showing that even in tough conditions, teamwork, resilience, and MAA spirit always shine through. ❤️

It’s properly dark and cold now, we’re closing in on winter and yet, I still can’t keep up with my life.

I would very happily go back to being slightly too hot, walking potentially further than I enjoyed, but having a great time anyway!

I’ve definitely heard you’re meant to remember each year by a significant event that happens in it.
I am feeling very fortunate that I have many significant events to remember this year by and those special friends I got to experience them all with!
