21 years ago Queen and Paul Rodgers played in Aruba! Feels like last week. Even though the boys were playing in very humid conditions, it is one of my very favorite Queen+ concerts!

From Brianmay.com

October 8, 2005 – Queen + Paul Rodgers (Q+PR) played the Aruba Entertainment Center in Oranjestad, Aruba, as part of the Return of the Champions tour. The 5,000-strong audience was treated to a set featuring Queen classics alongside songs from Paul Rodgers’ Free and Bad Company repertoire.

The show was played in extremely humid conditions — with band reportedly soaking wet with perspiration. Brian also had a little guitar feedback at the beginning of Love of My Life and restarted the song.

This was Q+PR’s first show outside Europe on this tour, but they had already performed a special charity show at the 46664 concert in Johannesburg, South Africa, on March 19.

My first concert photos (2005) - Queen + Paul Rodgers at Birmingham N.E.C. UK 05/06/05

Through a friend-of-a-friend, I was able to go backstage that night and meet Brian May, Roger Taylor, Paul Rodgers, Danny Miranda, and Jamie Moses, as well as Tony Iommi who was hanging out with Brian. I also got that night’s setlist.

One final salute to the Boss from the wonderful Paul Crook, to end the show, with the great Danny Miranda in the background. The love for Meat Loaf just resonates from everyone on the stage, every night.
