Baseball: A Game of Grit, Perseverance, and Dreams ⚾

Baseball isn’t just a sport—it’s one of the toughest paths of dedication, perseverance, and unwavering belief in yourself. The numbers prove it:

- 6.7 million youth players begin the journey with a glove, bat, and big dreams. Yet...
- Only 455,400 of those players make it to high school teams. Of the millions, countless fall to the side, but some continue to grind.
- From there, 57,000 collegiate athletes fight for a roster spot, with only the absolute best reaching NCAA Division I.
- The climb doesn’t stop—just 6,400 players enter the minor leagues. It’s grueling, it’s competitive, and it’s all for a shot they may never get.
- Finally, just 1,280 players make it to the Major Leagues. That’s 0.02% of all youth players—an exclusive group earning the title of “The Show.”
What Does This Teach Us?

- Resilience: The odds are daunting. Every step along the way requires pushing through failure, self-doubt, and grueling competition.
- Work Ethic: Talent only goes so far in baseball. It’s hours of practice, adjustments, and an unyielding desire to improve that separates the good from the legendary.
- Dream Big, Stay Hungry: If the end goal feels impossible, remember this—everyone in the Majors was once that kid with a dream, swinging for the fences.

Baseball teaches us that success isn’t for everyone—but it IS for the relentless. Whether you make it or not, the journey alone makes you stronger, sharper, and prepared for anything life tosses your way.

Stay committed. Swing hard. Never give up on your dreams. 🌟 #dbatkc #dbatsports #hardwork #bigleaguedreams

When was the last time you had your glove relaced? 🧤

Your glove’s laces do a lot more than just hold leather together. They maintain your pocket, preserve the overall structure, and keep that perfect feel when you’re making a play.

Over time, leather laces stretch, dry out, and weaken—and a snapped lace in the middle of an inning is the last thing you need. 😬

Fresh laces will:
⚾️ Restore structure and pocket shape
🥎 Tighten up a loose or sloppy feel
⚾️ Extend the life of your favorite glove
🥎 Prevent game-day breaks
⚾️ Give your gear a fresh, custom look with colored laces!

If your laces are dry, cracking, or fraying, it’s time for a tune-up. Don’t replace your glove—restore it!

Drop your leather off at your local D-BAT or hit the link in our bio to book your glove relacing and repair services today! 📲

Landon Schreifels (2026) a Coffeyville commit or of Staley HS, has been working as hard as anyone this winter. Dude has a three pitch arsenal now with three pitches that flash plus. The splitter and slider are both swing and miss offerings and the fastball has been run up to 92 this winter. We look forward to following Landon’s journey this spring and beyond!
