Full Architecture Tour - The Cantilevered Barn - Dundas, Ontario

Video produced by @craft_photo_video

Shot in 4 separate visits - between a rain out, sunrise shoots, sunset shoots, and working around peoples’ schedules. In the end, those different visits helped us capture some incredible footage.

The deer were out, a coyote took centre stage at one point, and we even found a gaggle of turkeys (they unfortunately didn’t make the final cut of the video).

The project was designed by @smpldesignstudio, built by @dbcustomhomes, with the windows done by @alumilex.canada. The result is absolutely spectacular, and one of the most unique homes you’ll come across.

A big thanks to the homeowners, who were extremely gracious with their time and access to their home.

The House on Ancaster Creek

Built of local stone and western red cedar, this house was developed with intergenerational flexibility, the extended family each with their own private spaces, while having large family gathering spaces facing the creek.

House on Ancaster Creek

The kitchen, housed in a volume behind the entry with no windows to the street, instead opens to the creek and above with a pyramidal skylight, flooding the space with daylight.

This scale of the view from this 2,300 sq.ft. home under construction on the Hamilton Brown is quite enthralling. 5 years ago we designed the clients main home. And now - the guest house.... an upside down floor plan to maximize views over the escarpment and out to lake ontario.

Now featured in @housebeautiful ✨ We’re thrilled to share this project. A Texas Hill Country retreat by the incredibly talented @kacyellisdesign — where architectural restraint met a fearless love of pattern, and every wallpaper and fabric was sourced through SUPPLY.

“The wallpaper is what gives the home so much of its personality, vibrancy, and richness. In many ways, it became the decorative heartbeat of the entire project.” @kacyellisdesign

Perched along the Niagara Escarpment, this is more than just a home… This is a front-row seat to Lake Ontario, with views stretching all the way to the Toronto skyline.

Welcome to 82 Park Road, a custom-designed modern bungalow by SMPL Design Studio. This 10,000 square foot residence blends architecture and landscape into one seamless experience.

From the moment you step onto this property, the vision becomes clear. The home is carefully positioned to maximize its surroundings—capturing uninterrupted views of nature, water, and skyline.

This sprawling bungalow is defined by its clean lines, horizontal form, and expansive use of glass. Every room is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a constant connection between indoor living and the outdoors.

Whether you’re relaxing by the pool or watching the skyline light up at night, this home is designed for moments—quiet, expansive, and unforgettable.

Built in collaboration with DB Custom Homes, this project showcases what’s possible when design, engineering, and craftsmanship align.

82 Park Road isn’t just a home—it’s a perspective.
A place where luxury design frames the world around you.

Feature Friday RELAUNCH

Our studio is too in love with this project, we had to share it again. Located on Niagara Escarpment and Conservation regulated land - this absolute one of a kind design sits on 56 acres where the deer, fox, turtles, birds, and insects all thrive and roam free ...

The home itself ::: 3500 sq ft of meticulously detailed and executed space. Featuring 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms along with a kids lounge and rooftop patio with hot tub upstairs. The main floor, where the real party's start :: the entry, the wine room, mudroom, open plan living space and killer flow out the back covered patio and pool space.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

Did you notice the cantilevered volumes slicing through the gable form ???

What a fun home to work on for all teams involved.
