Unveiling “Oasis” by @kingkxnna

Created by Kanna Anigbogu, an Igbo-Nigerian artist based out of Toronto, “Oasis” transcends a depiction of an uncovered sanctuary; it is a journey from the body to the soul. This abstract piece of art is a visual embodiment of the artist’s experience of the Kimpton Saint George, as more than a secure escape from the elements, and the concrete jungle of Toronto.

The piece’s organic form evokes natural and supernatural elements, beckoning viewers to imagine cool waters and the unknown within a sun-baked earth. The palette of brown and blue tells a story of finding tranquility within adventure, mirroring the restorative experience this hotel offers.

Commissioned in celebration of Black History Month, “Oasis” found its home on the walls of the #SaintGeorgeToronto’s lobby earlier this month. Be sure to check out our newest art piece during your next stay.
