Alex’s first training exercise with his new cadets ends in tragedy when Tyborus is killed by the evil Blackstars, led by the Reaper, Naxos Ko-Ma. As the Stingrazors make their way back to Rylos, Alex draws the Blackstars’ attention. The enemy power up their weapons systems and open fire, but Alex and Grig respond by powering up their engines and making a quick getaway. When Alex and Grig disembark, they’re greeted by the cadets who are devastated to learn of Tyborus’ fate. Grig tries to comfort Alex, reminding him that death is a risk they must face every time they step into the cockpit. But when Centauri offers his own opinion on the situation, tensions flare between him and Grig. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Louis is approached by a man in a suit who questions him about strange lights in the sky and sightings of alien creatures. Alarmed, Louis races home to contact Alex. Everyone has an idea. Some are brilliant. Some are insane. Some probably should never see the light of day.

But an idea is only the beginning.

I’ve spent my career building worlds, writing stories, and working with artists, writers, and creators who can take something that exists only in someone’s imagination and turn it into something real.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that execution is everything.

The right team doesn’t just bring your vision to life. They challenge it, push it, break it apart, and help build something better than you could have imagined alone.

That’s the magic of making comics. A hundred different creative decisions, made by people who give a damn, coming together to tell one story.

So find your people. Build your worlds. Make some weird shit.

Because the world doesn’t need another great idea sitting in someone’s notebook.

It needs more great stories brought to life.

🎥This is why I love interviewing writers and artists! During the interview, we get to geek out about the things we love—from movies and TV to comics.

This fan-art poster by @rodrigoprofiles is absolutely amazing! It immediately reminded me of my interview with the writers of The Last Starfighter comic from Mad Cave Comics.

If you’re a fan of The Last Starfighter, this comic is such a great read. From the story to the incredible art by Willi Roberts, it captures what makes this universe so much fun.

I love being able to have these conversations with the people behind the comics and share that passion with other fans!

Sometimes a photo pops up on your phone that puts a smile on your face during a frustrating day… This was from the very first @theblerdandboujee @comic_con party with @dnice on the ones and twos and #Estelle blessed us with a song. That party was on a boat and it was epic!

Me and the fellas rolled out to catch @markaaltman’s excellent new #StarTrek documentary #TheSixtyYearMission and wonder at the marvel that is a 95-year-old William Shatner blowing the doors off a Q&A.

“Bill, are there any tips or hacks you’ve learned to prolong your longevity?”

“Keep breathing.”

Ahhhh! 🙌🏽💜🙌🏽
What a send off! I’m still emotional over how many people came out after a long day to speak life into me. My dear friends for 20+ years and new friends I met throughout my 9 year journey in LA. Thank you for showing up and sending me off to the concrete jungle ready for whatever! 🗽 To those who couldn’t make it, thank you for your kind words. This is not goodbye, it’s more of an “ I’ll see you later, friend.”
A time was haaaad! ✨💜✨
