The most wholesome trip back home. The kind of days you wish you could slow down and hold onto a little longer. Until next time, Ohio 🤎🍂

Living in an answered prayer every day and I’ll never take it for granted!

In eight years of marriage, we’ve lived so many dreams from dancing under the stars in Yosemite to swimming in the Mediterranean Sea...but the greatest dream of all is raising our sweet babies together.

From the start, I knew I was meant to be yours, and you mine. Even on the hard days, there’s no place l’d rather be than by your side.

Thank you for loving me unconditionally, for staying, protecting, and making anywhere feel like home.

8 years down and forever to go with you, @dbrandonr #iloveyoufive 🤎

I wasn’t planning on sharing this, but after talking with so many moms who have been through something similar, I realized just how common this experience actually is…and how much I needed to hear positive stories from someone who had been through it.

At Tripp’s first-week appointment, we were told that his newborn screening came back with a possible abnormal result for a genetic condition.

Over the next few weeks, we had more testing done and were told it would be weeks before we’d have any answers. I wish someone had prepared me for how often this can happen, or at least educated me on what a newborn screening result really means. Instead, I was immediately given worst-case scenarios, which created so much unnecessary fear and anxiety during an already overwhelming time.

Those weeks of waiting for follow-up testing felt like time stood still. The fear, the stomach drops, the unknown, and the endless “what ifs” were overwhelming. I truly have never been so scared in my life.

Last week, we finally got the call that all of his follow-up testing came back normal. It was a false positive, and he is perfectly healthy. Thank You, Jesus.

I’m so incredibly thankful for everyone who prayed for our family, checked in on us, and carried us through those long days. We are so blessed to have such an amazing village.

If you’re a new parent who ever has to experience something like this, I hope this gives you a little hope. My biggest piece of advice is to stay off Google. Lean on your loved ones. Remember that a positive newborn screening is not the same as a diagnosis, and false positives are more common than many people realize. These screenings are designed to catch potential concerns as early as possible, and while a false positive can be incredibly scary, it does happen.

To every parent who is currently in the waiting: I’m praying your phone call brings the same joy and relief that ours did 🤎
