Our GSOM and COCF students honored their beloved professor Dr. Daehnert at the most recent quarterly Ministry Guidance Luncheon. At the luncheon, students heard personal remarks from president, Dr. Adam Wright, a final charge from Dr. “D” himself as he retires in May, and a surprise special music from the “Ministry Guidance Maniacs.” We love Dr. Daehnert and are thankful for the impact he’s made on so many future ministers at DBU!!!

Look mom, I made it — (but not on my own)

The last four years have been some of the most formative and stretching of my life. The discipline and grit it took to earn this degree played a huge part in that, and became one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.

I’m incredibly grateful for the people who encouraged me every step of the way, for a college that helped me grow not only in knowledge but in faith, and for a faithful God who is the reason these doors have opened at all.

Here’s to the end of my formal education, and to continuing to learn, grow, and follow the Lord wherever He leads next.

Soli Deo Gloria.
Go Pats! 🤍🎓

Greetings Instagram family, This semester the Lord has brought me home to the DFW area after studying in Southern California at the Master’s University for a year and a half. The reason for moving back to Texas was due to my health issues. In May during a medical visit in Boston with my genetics doctor, I was made aware the need to prioritize my health. Although she recommended experimental drugs for treatment. I declined that treatment and decided to take the approach of a change in lifestyle to protect my health. This mostly consists of monitoring my diet and moving back home with my family. The lifestyle I had living in shared spaces and eating quick prepared meals was taking a toll on me.
I am now studying Christian Studies at Dallas Baptist University. I look at this move as a blessing even though at the time it seemed like a setback. Transitioning to Dallas Baptist University has been a great blessing to me and being able to enjoy the support and love of my family. Dallas Baptist Universityis a very mission focused university with Christ at the center in every aspect of study and life there. I have come to learn that it is one thing to know Scripture, but living it out and applying it is vital in my journey with the Lord.

An example of DBU equipping me to apply Scripture through my Christian Studies program is the required eighteen hours of community service as part of my Christian Leadership Scholarship (CLS) which is specific to the program I am in. This past week during fall break, I served my community at Duncanville Outreach Ministries helping with the foodbank. This service opportunity has increased my love and compassion for my people in my community. Even though this service is a requirement for my scholarship, it is teaching me to be of service with the love of Christ. Being of service is the application of my major and is part of my training and development to put into practice what I am learning.
Blessings with ❤️🙏🏼
