419 hours, 7,500 miles, and 22 races. I learned a lot this season, gaining experience, and continuing to grow as a rider.
I didn’t get the results I was hoping for, but I’m proud of the work I put in and everything this season taught me. None of it would have been possible without the support of @dcdevoracing , my teammates, sponsors, family, and friends.
I’m grateful for everyone who helped me this year, especially the sponsors ⬇️ @ventumracing @rideshimano @vergesport @espressocyclecoaching @leesmcraecycling

The UCI World Championship Road Races start TOMORROW.

One of the coolest parts is seeing racers from our local race scene in Washington, D.C. make it all the way to Worlds. We’ve watched them rise through the junior ranks right here at home, and now they’re representing the U.S. on one of cycling’s biggest stages. Pretty incredible. Wishing them the best 🫡

First UCI weekend in the books! 🥳

Rochester CX was definitely a different experience from the races I’m used to.

Saturday started pretty well. Got up to around 7th early and spent most of the race going back and forth with the group I was in. Unfortunately, I lost my bottle and couldn’t get another one because the group was so tight. Started fading a bit toward the end but managed to finish P10 and get my first UCI point!!

Sunday was a little rougher 😂. Was sitting around the top five during the opening lap before sliding out and dropping back to around 15th. Managed to move up again, but kept making mistakes in places I’m normally pretty good at, especially the run-up and technical sections. Spent a lot of the race trying to close gaps and ended up P17.

Definitely learned how much more stressful UCI racing is, especially with this being part of the Team USA selection process. Pretty happy to come away with a point on Saturday, and plenty to work on after Sunday.

Big thanks to @gholicky for all the coaching and help this weekend, and to everyone helping make these weekends possible — @berdspokes, @fillosfoods, @tnrtape, @downbytheriverracing and @auntielaine.ainsworth. Really appreciate all the support! 🙏

On to the next one! 🤘

Green Mountain Stage Race ⛰️

A little late on this one, but four pretty hard days of racing in Vermont with 110 juniors ages 15–18 and a really strong field, including riders getting ready for Worlds in Canada.

Started with an uphill TT and a power meter that decided not to work 😂. Raced off heart rate and finished P41, then stayed consistent through the circuit race and road race.

Stage 3 was the big one — 64 miles and 7,431 ft of climbing, finishing up App Gap. The race kept splitting and coming back together before everything finally blew apart on the last climb. Finished P36 and made it through a pretty huge day.

Then somehow the crit had another 3,573 ft of climbing in just 17.9 miles 😭. 93 riders made it to the start, and they were aggressively pulling riders throughout the 30-lap race. Only 38 were left for the final sprint.

My legs took about 20 laps to finally come around, and by then I’d burned a lot of matches just staying in the race. Made it to the final sprint and finished P20, my best result of the weekend.

Four days of racing and enough consistency to finish P23 overall on GC out of the original 110 riders.

Pretty happy with that one. Learned a lot and a pretty good way to end the road season.

That’s a wrap on road for this year. Thanks @dcdevoracing @berdspokes @tnr_tape for everything this season. Now it’s time to get muddy. 🤘

Good times at @lostriverclassic - a rippin course with a proper mix of steep climbs sketchy descents and roadie sections

Snagged the win in 40+ with El Dorado on the 🥈step congrats to frenz @bavarian.cowboy 2nd overall in men and @jillpattersoncycling taking the women’s overall. @fcovas74 (@dcveloracing teammie) won the 50+!!

Big thanks to @flandersdevo1 and @newenglanddevo for such an amazing experience and for all of their guidance and support. From crashing with motorcycles and hopping curbs in sprints to getting lost in big tourist cities this month was absolutely incredible!

Have I mentioned how much I hate indoor riding? I’ve tried the wahoo Kickr core, core with climb, core with climb & rocker plate, Kickr bike on a rocker plate and I still feel get soreness on trainers even though all the bike fitting was right. This is my new set up, Insideride E-motion with wahoo resistance. No soreness and better rider engagement, not getting bored and as close as I can get to riding my bike outside.

Finished my spring/summer road campaign at the last four CAT2/3 races of Chicago Grit. This was my first time racing Chicago Grit and has me wanting more of it.I raced this on the way home from MTB Nationals. Had to adjust my body back to racing road.

Day 1: Northbrook had lots of crashes in the dog leg turn, I sent a flyer that lasted 3 laps, finished P11/72 in a pack sprint.

Day 2: Elgin was fun and technical but I did too much out front and didn’t have it for the final sprint. Finished P14/69

Day 3 Lake Bluff started very hot for the first 3rd of the race, I over compensated and went too conservative and wasn’t able to set myself up for the sprint. Finished P12/85

Day 4: Fulton Market had a great crowd and was really cool that it ran under the train. It was wide rectangle course so the corners were fast. Lots of bunching up. Lined myself up we for the pack finished but got taken out in the last corner. Picked up my and ran to the finish P56/87. I got the SRAM Chicago Grit Gritty jersey.

Crashing was not the ideal end to the summer campaign but I had so much fun! Time for a break/build before Green Mountain Stage Race.

Thank you!
