dc Talk’s 1995 Parachute Show Almost Didn’t Happen | Timeless Worship

Rain threatened dc Talk’s headline appearance at New Zealand’s 1995 Parachute Festival. Festival founder Mark de Jong recalled that the tour manager was concerned about the wet stage, but Toby McKeehan said the band would find a way to perform. The rain eased, and the show went on.

“TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM: Your Death So That Others May Live!” - Today is a good day to die! The Bible is clear about it! Many are called but a few are chosen! Let us explore how you choose a great death today despite the snares placed at your path! A plethora of others are counting on you to let go so they can go! Are you ready? #YES! Have you ever stopped to realize that even with all the power and strength within him as a lad in his feelings at times before maturity, Clark did not start out as the mighty Superman we know! “Taking one for the team simply means being hated, wanted dead, and discriminated against like your JESUS for speaking or “thumbing” truth! Have you taken a bullet? In the past week or so, my enemy numbers have increased because I decided to die by speaking truth! You can’t be “SUPER” until you do! There is no way around it, you are going to have some “kryptonite” experiences in this spiritual war! Many of you are lukewarm because you will not lay back, die, and allow the coffin to close. In this fight, you have family, friends, and colleagues who are trapped in demonic bondage and are waiting for you to decide to die so that they can be free! They are freed because you have the voice that they do not have! You can use it to speak truth and see satanic networks shatter! You are strong in truth and weak in apathy and silence! Take a look at all the comics superheroes who fight for other! You see loneliness at times by them, you see hurt at times with them, and you see longing for different lives at times by them! Despite all of that, they choose to say in the grave! At some point it really MUST sink in that this journey is not only about you! Your decision to “die” now is what will “up, up, and away” to Him on that blessed “Great Day!”😼🤨 Galatians 2:20💦PASTOR WILLPOWER💦 #It #Is #Finished

Jesus Freak (1995) Supernatural (1998).

No warm-up. No stretching. Just one opening chord and suddenly the whole youth group is jumping on the one and three. 😭🙌 Which song still activates your inner church kid?

CCM Magazine - October 1998

(In celebration of the upcoming 28th birthday of dcTalk’s fifth, final, and my personal favorite studio album, Supernatural, I wanted to share this article—enjoy!!!)

As Supernatural was preparing to make its way into the world, Toby, Mike, and Kevin reflected on their faith, their struggles, their friendship, their changing sound, and what it meant to carry their message beyond the Christian music market.

The three also opened up about where they were personally—from Mike reflecting on the loss of his father, to Kevin finding his birth family and wrestling with rebellion, to Toby preparing for fatherhood. Through all of these changes, they emphasized the importance of their friendship, their calling, and the unique ways God could use each of them—despite their differences.
