23 years! This week marks my 23rd anniversary as a designer. My first job was in NYC exactly one week before the tragic day of 9/11. So much has changed in my life and the industry since then. Thinking how we didn’t even use the internet for sourcing or showing our work when I started!! Yikes. I often call my career my first born. Keeping me up at night, teaching me and showing me success is never a linear path. It has given me life in NYC -San Fran - South Africa and now back home in OK!! I love what I do but I cherish the many clients and talented people I have met along the way the most. It takes a village. Anyone in this business knows it’s a grind and the shiny pics of Instagram etc. never show the logistics , the hundreds of hours and people behind the scenes that had to work together to even get that shot. A special shout out to DD Allen for giving me my first job and opening so many doors for me that have gotten me where I am today. ✌🏼.
