I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better morning yesterday. 💕

Thank you to everyone who came to our Dolly Parton Tribute Stretch. The outfits, music, laughs, stretching and sparkle made it so much fun. ✨

Dolly reminded us to be kind, generous, accepting and unapologetically ourselves — with a little humor, big hair and rhinestones along the way.

Be kind. Help people. Don’t judge. Laugh often. Stand up for what you believe in. Be exactly who you are.

The world would be better with a little more Dolly in it. 💕✨

Cheers amigos -

As we gear up for our 18th Bday on Saturday the 19th, we want to take a moment for Staff Appreciation. 💕

Pop Cycle wouldn’t have made it into legal adulthood without our dedicated and, if we may say, very cool staff. We really appreciate everything that they do for us, and one of those things is create beautiful artwork! In fact, the only member of staff that isn’t also an artist is the one writing this newsletter. From shirts to ceramics, jewelry to sun-catchers, our collection of creations from current and former Pop Cycle team members. There have been so many that helped us get to 18 we are extremely grateful. 🙏

We are missing a few folks in the photo!

The second pair of earrings in the Matriarch Collection is named DeeDee. Naming it after the Iconic Queen @ddcodesign who owns @popcycleshop. Using vintage beads that I most likely got from DeeDee lol. I chose the color green to represent DeeDee because Green symbolizes nature and ecology . DeeDee has shown me how to be even sustainable and to care about the footprint that is being left behind. Green is often linked to new beginnings and prosperity. Deedee and I are so much alike. I can never have a bad idea because DeeDee always has my back and will help with any idea I come up with. DeeDee will always make room at the table or even help make another one. Thank you for always laughing with me and for supporting all the crazy ideas. Having conversations to last a life time. Thank you for not only being my “Auntie” but to being my friend too.

featured artist: DeeDee Koenen
@ddcodesign

A lifelong maker, DeeDee Koenen spent years tinkering before turning that instinct into a career. In 2008, she opened @popcycleshop in Tucson and has continued to invest in spaces, ideas, and projects that champion creativity, community, and access. Rooted in one simple belief - strong communities are built by people who show up and make things together.

For SMOL WORX: Tucson Summer, Deedee created a collection of wooden plaques that celebrate Tucson’s playful spirit, creative energy, and deep sense of place. Equal parts art object and conversation piece, each plaque carries the charm and character that have made her work beloved throughout the community.
