🎭✨ AND THAT’S A WRAP ON BACK TO THE 80s! ✨🎭

Now that the dust has settled on our incredible school musical, Back to the 80s, we want to take a moment to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make it such a magical experience! 💜

To all of our wonderful sponsors, thank you for your generosity and for helping to make it all possible. To the staff of St. Kevin’s, thank you for everything you do, both behind the scenes and front of house.

From photocopying scripts and organising transport for our set to running shops, managing raffles and everything in between, your support means the world to us!

A very special thank you to our Principal, Mr Duffy, for being such a champion of the arts in St. Kevin’s. Alongside Ms Scott and Ms Kennedy, you have been an incredible source of encouragement and support, and we are so grateful to have you in our corner❤️

And finally, to the brilliantly talented students, both onstage and off… YOU are what it’s all about! 🌟

Every single day, these young people walk through our doors bringing their incredible talents, wonderful personalities and infectious enthusiasm with them. They have a special ability to share the purest, most uninhibited joy with everyone lucky enough to be part of their journey.

Watching these young people grow in confidence, discover their potential and truly shine on that stage has been nothing short of magical. The memories, friendships, laughter and moments of pride we have shared will stay with us long after the final curtain call. 🥹❤️

The lights are out, the costumes are packed away and the hairspray has finally settled… 🎤✨

But there’s just ONE question left to answer… WHAT SHOW ARE WE DOING NEXT YEAR?! 👀🎭

Thank you, St. Kevin’s, for making Back to the 80s such an unforgettable experience. We couldn’t have done it without you! 💜

🎙️Our TY Journalism students got their interviewing skills out to discover how our first years are getting on settling in to their first term of secondary school!

After a busy first term, learning teachers’ names, finding their classrooms and making new friends, we are delighted to hear about the great memories our first years are already making!
We look forward to seeing them progress and grow over the next few years!

🔢✨ **MATHS WEEK – IT ALL ADDS UP TO FUN!** ✨🔢

WOW! 🤩 What a **SUM-tastic** and fun-packed Maths Week we’ve had in our school! 🎉🧮

From making marvellous **marshmallow estimates** 🍡 to exploring numbers, shapes, patterns and problem-solving through exciting hands-on activities, our little mathematicians were busy **THINKING, TALKING and DOING maths** all week long! 💭🔍

We encouraged lots of wonderful **Maths Talk**, with children explaining their thinking, comparing answers, making predictions and discovering that there’s often more than one way to solve a problem! 💡🗣️

The excitement really **MULTIPLIED** when the whole school came together for a fantastic game of **Butlers Bingo!** 🎱🎉 Eyes down, brains switched on and plenty of mathematical thinking as everyone joined in the fun! What a brilliant way to bring our whole school together through maths! 🔢👏

And to **TOP it all off**… our whole school got baking! 👩‍🍳🍪 From measuring ingredients and weighing quantities to counting, comparing, estimating and following recipes, we discovered that maths really is a **recipe for success!** 🥣⚖️

There were **brownies galore, delicious cookies and even homemade butter**, whipped up by our fantastic 6th Class! 🍫🍪🧈👏 Who knew maths could be so *BUTTER-ly brilliant* and so delicious? 😋

There was certainly no *SHORTAGE* of fun, and the learning opportunities were *MULTIPLYING* by the minute! ➕✖️

A fantastic week of curiosity, collaboration, mathematical thinking and plenty of smiles! ❤️

**Our final calculation?**

**Maths + Fun + Teamwork = AMAZING LEARNING!** 🌟🎉

🌿 MORE THAN AN ADVENTURE… IT’S ABOUT CONNECTION.

What happens when students step outside the classroom and discover a different side of each other? 💚

In our 3-part podcast series with @delphiresort Delphi Adventure Resort, we explore how outdoor adventure programmes build unexpected bonds, uncover hidden strengths and inspire compassion that lasts long after camp ends.

Sometimes, the greatest lessons aren’t taught in a classroom, they’re discovered together. 🤝✨

We had a very busy mending session today. We shortened a pair of ladies trousers with a neat, double fold hem. Two granddaughters were getting looked after by grandmothers. One getting a black hoodie re-sized and another lucky granddaughter had some dance costumes embellished with fabulous beaded applique pieces.

In addition to this we had another participant who was upcycling a silk scarf (charity shop find) into a luxurious silk pillowcase.

A never worn designer pair of jeans was given a neat waistband reduction for a better fit.
Another winter coat lining was patched with new fabric and invisible applique stitch.

Love your clothes for longer…..
