Oral Health Outreach Volunteer
16th April 2026

Grateful for the opportunity to serve and give back to the community through the SCOPH @tamsamuhas × @tdsamuhas outreach at Ndugumbi Primary School, Magomeni.

As a dental student, I had the privilege of participating in oral health education and screening, engaging with young pupils, and promoting better hygiene practices under the theme #AfyaNiMtaji with my fellows @sharsashley and @dds_benedicto.

Experiences like this continue to shape my perspective on preventive care and the real impact of community-based health initiatives.

Appreciation to @m.u.n.i.s.i____, other organizers and all professionals involved for their guidance and mentorship throughout the outreach.

The vibes were very incredible amazing energy, wonderful people, and everyone coming together for a cause of raising awareness about oral health.

Huge respect to the leaders who joined us, including the Dean of Dentistry – MUHAS, the Mayor of Dar es Salaam, and the Executive Director of KSI.

From planning to the actual walk, every bit of it was worth it.

World Oral Health Day in action 🦷✨

In preparation for this special day, the Tanzania Dental Students Association, MUHAS chapter marked the occasion with an outreach at Gili Girls Secondary School, bringing oral health services closer to students and the school community.

Our team conducted dental check-ups, provided basic treatment, and delivered oral health education aimed at promoting better hygiene practices and awareness. The interactions, the learning moments, and the care shared all reflect our commitment to improving oral health in every community we reach.

This video captures highlights of a day dedicated to service, impact, and empowering young people to take charge of their oral health.

Because every smile matters.
