Good day wellness Warriors, it's another Wednesday and we're back with another episode of our understanding diabetes series. On this episode, in line with our upcoming event we'll be talking about understanding how diabetes affects your exercising and/or workout routine.

As we already know, living with diabetes comes with its unique challenges but the good news is that exercising regularly can be a game changer in managing this condition. Engaging in regular exercise offers a myriad of benefits for those of us living with diabetes - it helps lower our blood sugar levels, increases insulin effectiveness, and improves cardiovascular health. Regular exercise also aids weight management, reduces stress levels and boosts overall wellbeing.

When it comes to exercising, consistency is important so finding activities that you enjoy and can sustain is key. You can consider a mix of aerobic exercises (such as walking, cycling or swimming) to get your heart pumping, strength training exercises to build muscle mass and improve metabolism and flexibility exercises (e.g Yoga or Stretching) to enhance mobility and prevent injuries. Don't forget to always PUT SAFETY FIRST; it is best to consult a health care specialist before starting any fitness routine so as to receive tailored recommendations and help setting realistic goals,

START SLOW AND BUILD MOMENTUM; Begin with short sessions of low impact activities, listen to your body and gradually increase the duration and intensity as your fitness level improves. It is also important to not embark on this journey alone, seek support from fellow individuals living with diabetes, join local fitness groups and connect with online communities such as The BARONG WELLNESS FOUNDATION to share experiences, seek advice and find motivation and tips. Together we can uplift and inspire one another. Let exercise become an integral part of your diabetes management plan. Experience the positive impact it has on your physical and emotional wellbeing. Celebrate every milestone and remember that every step counts towards a healthy, happier you. 💙💪💪💙💙💪💥💥🎉
