Exactly half of the artists we put on were regional. This included artists from Margaret River, Dunsborough, Balingup, Busselton and a huge 20 from Bunbury.

This has been an insane year, to say the least. Numbers are one way to provide insight and measure success, but they cannot attest to the impact these events have had on the community. My personal favourite moments from this year have been establishing and strengthening the new alternative community by providing all-ages gigs. I’ve seen people completely come out of their shells, speak in front of a room for the first time, pick up instruments, start bands, and get amongst their first mosh. ‘Ruckus!’ and ‘The Big Gig’ have been two of my greatest achievements so far for these reasons in particular.

Some more fun facts:
⭐ We posted 4 interviews this year, but have recorded 12! Stay tuned...
⭐ I personally have partaken in several interviews, across local and national ABC radio, our major newspapers and the ECU newsletter.
⭐ We surpassed 100 tickets for both Ruckus! events... Who do you want there next?

It’s important to platform regional artists as location alone does not give them the same opportunities, privileges and choices that artists in cities and population-dense areas do. Bunbury only has 2 venues that value original artists. On the other end of the spectrum, all-ages opportunities in Perth aren’t necessarily designed to be accessible or affordable for U18 bands to hire/perform at. I aim to keep music accessible, affordable and for all ages to both attend and perform at in 2025.

Not to be that guy but genuinely big things are coming next year lol...
