Exhibition: “This Is Not a Class: Contemporary Art Under Construction” 8–23 May 2025 “This group exhibition brings together the experimental works produced by third-year students of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at the Faculty of Communication, @ufvmadrid Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV), as the result of their academic journey in the course Contemporary Art Movements, taught by Prof. Dr. Amaia Salazar. Through visual exercises, interventions, reinterpretations and creative proposals, the students have explored the languages, concepts and tensions of major artistic movements from the 18th century to the present day. The exhibition stands as a testament to art as a tool for critical thinking, reflection and contemporary expression, encouraging consideration of its aesthetic, social and political implications through an active and engaged methodology. This project is part of a teaching innovation initiative that views art as a means to analyse the world through a specific lens and to construct new visual languages. The exhibition reflects a pedagogical approach rooted in artistic research, collective participation and creative discourse. Lectures, cooperative work, hands-on classroom activities and independent analysis are combined to foster critical thinking and contemporary expression. Each work on display represents a unique perspective, connecting past and present through both thought and emotion. This exhibition brings together history, theory, artistic practice and contemporary sensibility through the voices of a new generation of 30 students who learn by doing, creating and sharing. Their commitment breathes life into these “living fragments” of art history—fragments that continue to evolve over time.” Thanks to @ufv_facultadcomunicacion for the photographs and all the support to set up the exhibition. Above all, thanks to all my students, for letting me learn from you in every class ✨💜 #art #classes #teaching #ufv #exhibition
