Had so much fun celebrating @olivia.luna’s birthday this past weekend! I made her Pisces birthday dress & it’s probably one of the best dresses I’ve ever made I’m so proud of how it turned out! Thank you so much for trusting me with this project you looked so ethereal as always & I was so happy that I had the opportunity to make your Pisces dreams come true 💜 Your birthday trip was truly so magical & I can’t wait to visit Santa Cruz with you again! Seeing everyone come together for such a special event full of love is something I wouldn’t have missed for the world! I worked on this dress for about a month so I’m sharing a few of the progress pics throughout the process of making the dress: First I made a mockup out of an old bed sheet & did a mockup to fit it before cutting into the nicer fabric. The bodice is machine stitched but the 3 layers of gathered fabric for the skirt, the zipper, and the fish appliqués on the front & back of the bodice were all done by hand totaling around 16 hours of hand stitching alone. Then more try-ons were done to adjust the fit even more! This dress probably took me in total ~ 24+ hours from printing the pattern to the finish line I deal with a lot of imposter syndrome with stuff I create so seeing everyone’s reaction was mind-blowing! It helped me see past my mistakes & focus on the fact that I did that!! @olivia.luna you are so special to me & I am so thankful to have someone in my life who is endlessly inspiring. I can’t stop making you clothes it’s like having a model for a muse 💜

At this point you might be thinking… what else could Honey Disposition possibly add to make this year’s Women’s Music Festival even better? Well, we’ve got an answer for you… a WHOLE ROOM full of INCREDIBLE female and non-binary visual artists with all kinds of beautiful, original work for sale!! We can’t wait for you to get to enjoy uplifting creations from… Yukta Mehtaji: Yukta is a mental health counselor and lifelong artist and writer with a passion for whales in space. She will be selling postcards and hosting letter writing to show appreciation for the women in our lives! You can find Yukta on Instagram at @spacewhales_official . Crazy Cat Jewlery: My name is Charlotte and I own Crazy Cat Jewelry. I am a non-binary disabled artist who enjoys sewing, crochet, & making jewelry in my free time. I have been making jewelry since I was in middle school but got serious about selling earrings in 2020. Wackabye Baby: Drew is a local printmaker, with a specialty in little guys. Their focus is on linocut, cyanotype, and screenprint processes. Drew currently works with Honey Disposition in developing merch. They will also have a sampling of crochet. You can find them on Instagram at @wackabyebaby_ ! Art To Love: I grew up in a beautiful small coastal town where I spent my childhood playing outside on the street or on the sandy beach. If I was not outside I was indoors listening to or playing music and creating.  My gravitation towards color from a young age seemed resilient in all my projects. I enjoyed clay, painted watercolors, quilted, and frequently wrote creatively about my childhood days. But it was not until years later that I discovered my true passion, painting. All of my art is a summary of not just my playful young years but my return and yearning for the freedoms I felt. When I appreciate the heart and soul of any painting, I feel close to the freedom every child or person of any age needs.

late as hell as I did not make it past 8:30 due to a churro kiva bar related decision that led to double digits of sleep on her actual birthday, but still wanted to wish my sis Charlotte @deafcharlotte a wonderful 25 because 24 was a catastrophe but I’m still very proud of how we’ve made it through the year with some amazing life highlights (most of which I couldn’t find photographs for like outsidelands lol) Also who tf told me head tilt at like FOUR ??
