Some of my favorite painters on Instagram atm. These are the guys that I think have some of the most interesting color theory on here, they just see the world differently. If you've got any other nominations, please leave a comment

Dean Stuart Hometown: Eugene, Oregon Current City: Oakland Media: Acrylic, Oil, Gouache. Illustration and Painting mainly When did you become a Compound Artist? 2012, then again in 2015
How has being a part of the Compound Community enhanced your path as an artist?
I'm grateful there are so many driven, successful, and passionate artists at the Compound. It's a perfect balance of a professional and playful work environment that I want out of my artistic practice. The array of artists being so uniquely different and solid in what they do has inspired me to gain confidence in my own work. I think this is because being socially engaging as an artist here means for your work to be exposed, in the best way.
Why is making art important to you?
Making art is completely fulfilling. It's self-expression while at the same time engaging interest in an audience. For me making art is a religion. It's a pleasure in theory, but it's easy to be caught up in the day in a day out of simply making it work. I just turned 30 this year and I really want to make this a career, so right now I'd say making art is about being seen. Being an illustrator, telling stories has always been a goal with my work. This year, I've challenged myself with creating an entirely self directed book, which has been the longest project I've worked on. There's something uniquely meaningful in completing something that takes months or years to create. I think it's the pride in having something to show for it in the end.
