A true 20 year appreciation post - these two, man…
Been in it together since the beginning. We’ve been able to watch them both grow up together. What we don’t see is the cost of their commitment that has taken them from their family, their children, year after year. The birthdays, the anniversaries, the school performances, their wives. Many will clap back and say “This is what they signed up for” - that’s such a dickish thing to say. No starting musician “signs up” for their own unknowingly lived experience, it’s not fair for anyone else to speak for them. And it’s not fair for me to speak for them either. As a fan, I have zero clue how much this has cost them both, and it’s not my business… nor yours.

But here we are as fans, still enjoying these two souls rocking it out together, months at a time sometimes- still sacrificing, still figuring out how to make life work, still chugging along following their 20 year old dream and showing up for us- the fans. The Trybe they created.

Thank you, @brian_craddock & @chrisdaughtry & thank you @deanna.daughtry & Holli Craddock (can’t tag her due to her settings) for this crazy adventure you all signed up for and likely didn’t realize all the ways it would change the next #20years of your lives. ❤️🤘🏻🙏🏻❤️
We see you. ❤️

There are real people behind small businesses, noticing the names that keep showing up, cheering us on, telling a friend, sharing a post, or simply taking a moment to engage.

I notice you. And I’m incredibly grateful for every bit of support you give Femme & Fawn, whether you’ve placed an order or have simply helped us be seen.

Thank you for being here and thank you for helping us give back to @afspnational it truly means so much. 🦌🤍

Today I took the time to pause & thing of random things that bring me joy: kayaking. Having coffee somewhere beautiful. Coffee itself. ☕️ Flowers. Moss growing in the wild..I like to pet it. 🤣 Old trees.

Not being in a hurry.

When my house is clean and the pillows are fluffed. When my kids & grandkids smile and are genuinely happy to see me. That one is especially good. ❤️

Fall weather. The smell of burning leaves and a campfire. Those little moments when everything just feels good for no particular reason.

We spend so much time thinking about what needs to be done, fixed, achieved or figured out that we forget to notice what already makes us happy.

Take a minute today and think about the random little things that light you up inside. And remember to enjoy it while it lasts.

Tell me one of yours. I’d really love to know.

I think, in some ways, Femme & Fawn began with her.

The little girl in this photograph.

She loved beautiful things. Tiny treasures, stories, pretty dresses, animals, and nature. She was sensitive, imaginative, curious, and always had a doll close by.

I’m Deanna, the owner and operator of Femme & Fawn, and I wanted to introduce myself, not only as the person behind the shop, but as the woman behind the reason it exists.

Femme & Fawn has grown from so many parts of my life: motherhood, creativity, loss, resilience, my love of beautiful objects, and my belief that creativity is healing and there are many ways to expand use our innate creativity with the world. Through how we love, give, live, dress, decorate, cook, sing, dance. All of it!!!

This shop is deeply personal to me.

I choose the clothing, jewelry, objects, fragrances, pieces for home, and little discoveries you find here with the hope that they feel special when they arrive in your life, not simply like something you bought, but something you’ll remember.

I’m drawn to things with soul. Things that feel romantic, nostalgic, a little wild, beautifully made, and meant to be lived with.

And while Femme & Fawn is undoubtedly shaped by my own story, I hope it becomes part of yours too.

A place for women and children, mothers and daughters, friends, dreamers, caretakers, free spirits, tender hearts and anyone who still believes there is something important about finding beauty in everyday life.

There is much more of our story I want to share with you.

But I thought I should begin at the beginning.

With her.

This is EVERYTHING in gold for me. On a day that I wanted to throw my phone in the nearest river... (I’ve been on the phone all day with insurance, drs, etc.) Technology not complying, internet not complying, phone glitching, and then add my own brain that gets so completely tired of trying to think. ADHD on steroids I call it with short-term memory loss. lol. It takes everything so much longer for me. Like this post for instance- it’s the second time trying. It takes awhile for me to get all the words right.

But THIS. My wonderful friend @patba81 ordered a cameo from @chrisdaughtry to save the day. I’m pretty speechless and it made me ugly cry in a good way, smile and laugh too. Daughtry used to play this cover by The Toadies in 2009ish? Possum Kingdom. It was a favorite live cover of mine. This cover has always been a sarcastic inside joke with Chris and I to bring it back even though I knowingly realized it never would (a girl can dream). Little did I know I’d get my own serenade of the cover someday. Today. So here’s the thing about all of this to me: Chris may be a singer, a rock star or some might consider him a celebrity. I see him as Chris Daughtry, a person who sings with some major pipes and who could sing the Bible beautifully if we asked him to. More than that though, I’ve always seen him as a person with a deep, caring heart and soul and why I love him whole. (I make rhymes too lol). Behind him though is a another beautiful person with a heart of gold who I adore, love and appreciate, his wife @deanna.daughtry. She is a huge force that allows him to share his talents with us while she’s holding down a huge fort at home with her own business and their family. And Patty, God Bless you for this gift. You are simply the best, always caring for others and also a stroke survivor. I love you. I hope this post sounds ok. I think it came out totally different than the first try, at this point though my brain is so tired and I can’t reread it anymore to fix it. lol so here it is… #strokesurvivor #chrisdaughtry #possumkingdom #lifeisagift #daughtry @daughtry
