You already know LongevityFest isn’t a typical conference. But if you’ve never been or it’s been a while - here’s the honest picture of what December at the Venetian actually looks like.

👀It’s a lot. In the best way.

✅Here’s what’s waiting for you! ➡️➡️➡️

🗺️Experiential learning that goes beyond the classroom.
Pre-conference workshops, hands-on labs, live demonstrations - this isn’t passive. You’ll leave having done things, not just heard about them.

5️⃣

🌐10,000+ like-minded colleagues in one place.
The networking at LongevityFest is unlike anything else in medicine. Evening receptions, the VIP Lounge, impromptu conversations between sessions - the connections you make here are the ones that last.

The Connection Between Melatonin, Mitochondria, and Aging

You nay know melatonin as the sleep thing in the supplement aisle. It’s so much more than that.

In my new Thrive on Plants episode, nutrition scientist Dr. Deanna Minich reframes melatonin as what she calls the “mother molecule.” Made not just in your brain, but in your gut, skin, ovaries, and mitochondria. It sets the circadian rhythm that drives your metabolism, hormones, and how you age.

The hard truth for midlife: your levels drop with age. About a tenth of childhood levels by your 50s and 60s.

What helps?
Morning light in your eyes
Real darkness at night (most of us have a “darkness deficiency”)
A colorful plant plate that feeds the pathway

Ever heard of SOCIAL JET LAG?

You might be experiencing it every single weekend without even realizing it.

You stay up late Friday and Saturday, sleep in to make up for it, and then wonder why Monday morning feels like you’ve traveled across three time zones.

Sound familiar?

In this conversation, Dr. John Neustadt and Dr. Deanna Minich discuss research using Fitbit sleep data that highlights something surprisingly simple: consistency in your sleep schedule matters.

Your body runs on an internal clock, and constantly shifting your bedtime can disrupt that rhythm, even if you’re getting enough hours of sleep.

The takeaway? It’s not just HOW MUCH you sleep. It’s also WHEN you sleep.

Coming to you from @plminstitute and this beautiful view ... I've been tagged by @dr.carriejones to give my interpretation of "Exceptional Health"

I think first I start by acknowledging that health exists on a spectrum, and chronic illness doesn’t exclude anyone from this conversation... but it should be exceptionally personalized 😉

✨️ For me, the defining concept is resilience: the capacity to adapt, recover, and keep participating in what matters to you.

Two key foundations?
1️⃣ Metabolic optimization—supporting your body’s energy needs
2️⃣ Nervous system grounding—creating space for rest, safety, and recovery.

Our role as clinicians is to translate the science into practical choices that help people understand their bodies and feel more capable in their care 🤓🧡

I love this challenge and I'm tagging @drmelodyhartzler @john.pharmd and @deannaminich

So @deannaminich asked me what exceptional health means to me, and honestly, I’ve been thinking about it all day.

In longevity medicine we put so much focus on the LENGTH of our lives, but I really believe we need to put more energy into the WIDTH of our lives. (That idea comes from my friend @luckyjess917 , and I think about it all the time.)

For me, exceptional health is joy, a clear purpose, and the freedom to live it, physically, emotionally and socially.

And of course, the richest part of a wide life is the people in it.

What does exceptional health look like for you?

What happens when the body’s natural rhythms fall out of sync?

Sleep, hormones and stress are often considered separately in clinical practice, but what happens when the timing and rhythms that help regulate these systems become disrupted?

At FMC2026, Dr Deanna Minich will explore this in The Seven Rhythms of Life: Clinical Consequences of Chrono-Biological Misalignment, looking at sleep disruption, hormonal imbalance and stress patterns that persist in clinical practice.

Her second presentation takes a different, but equally wide-ranging, view of health.
Women’s Health Across the Lifespan: Tracing the Endocrine Journey from Menarche to Menopause and Beyond will explore the physical, emotional and spiritual changes that occur across each decade of a woman’s life.

Together, the two sessions give practitioners an opportunity to think about health across time: the rhythms operating across the day and the biological and endocrine changes taking place across decades.

👉 FOOD IS CONDENSED LIGHT!! ☀️🌈🤯

What if the food on your plate is another expression of the light that nourishes life?

Dr. Deanna Minich explores the fascinating connection between food, light, color, and the human body. 🔬

🌈 Every color tells a story.

The colors in our food reflect different compounds and nutrients — and @deannaminich explores their deeper symbolism through the body's energy centers, known as the chakras.

But the connection doesn't stop at your plate.

☀️ Just as we need the rainbow of colors in our food, we need the full spectrum of light.

Dr. Minich connects this idea with:

🌈 Eating a diverse range of colorful foods
☀️ Full-spectrum light exposure
🌿 Seasonal eating
🕰️ Circadian nutrition
🧠 The relationship between color, energy, and the body

Food and light aren't separate conversations.

They're deeply connected through the rhythms and patterns of life.

👉 Eat the rainbow. Experience the full spectrum. Align with the rhythms of nature. ☀️🌈

🎙️ Discover the physics and symbolism of food and light with Dr. Deanna Minich on the Fitness Wisdom Podcast.

💾 Save this as a reminder to bring more color into your food and your environment.
