Menstrual Hygiene Series (part 3)
Night Routine 🌙 w/ @dearkates

I’ve been slacking on my self care the last week or so and creating this little routine video made me excited to start treating myself better.

@dearkates gifted me their Nellie Hipster Mini in the color Periwinkle and I absolutely love these period underwear. They feature a bikini type cut with a modest leg line and a classic style. Made with three layers of breathable fabric, my undies are leak resistant, stain releasing and moisture wicking (NO plastic or films). The lining holds up to 1.5 regular tampons’ worth (2 tsp) but Dear Kate has lots of other options as well, depending on your flow!

Falling in love with yourself takes effort,
And commitment.

It’s a fierce act of undoing all that you know,
And creating who you’ve always been.

The act of loving yourself is soft at nature,
But hard at heart.

It’s going to take all that you’ve got,
And then even more,

But it’s something that NOBODY can take from you.

It’s your integrity and you stand tall knowing that you’ve earned it.

Fight for you,
Rally for you..
And soften for you.

It’s worth it ❤️

🩸Period positive underwear has grown exponentially from companies like @shethinx, @knix, @dearkates, @modibodi, @gemslilingerie, & @lemystere. There are even level waterproof blankets for the added protection when we sleep.
Our contributor @beckyyeephoto shares details about the various underwear brands that provide alternatives to using disposable period products like a tampon/pad, and brands that specialize in leakproof panties. These are game-changers!

Visit today’s blog post to learn much more. Make sure to share with anyone you think can use this information!

Now that I’m in my 40s, I have come to this realization: I deserve great f*cking underwear. And you do too!

In this week’s newsletter, Jess is talking about the Holy Grail of 40-plus underwear, which is proving more elusive than one might think. Her requirements include:

🩲Leak resistant. These underwear must be able to withstand a small accident due to laughing, jumping, sneezing, coughing, walking, talking or just generally not being able to get to the bathroom in time.
🩲Moisture-wicking. Once I have that small accident, I don’t want to have to feel that small accident.
🩲Period-proof. Because now that I am in my 40s, my period strikes any time, all the time, and never, and can be light, heavy or non-existent. It’s sort of like being 13 again.
🩲Breathable. You guys. I just want my vagina to breathe. Whatever that means.
🩲Full coverage. Things wiggle and jiggle, and no amount of running will make that stop. Also, underwear lines feel very on trend right now.
🩲Machine washable. And I mean in any load. Don’t ask me to wash in cold water only, inside a delicate bag, with like colors. They’re fucking underwear.
🩲Cute. I want my husband to want to have sex with me, even though most of the time I’m too tired. Sorry babe.

Check out her list of faves in the newsletter, and share your perfect pair below! Because aren’t we all just one great pair of underwear away from true happiness?

Don’t forget to tell your friends about us, and consider a paid subscription if you can! We’re donating 30% to @lilithfund because About Time believes in reproductive rights! Link’s in the bio.
