Most self-tapes don’t fail because of bad acting. They fail before you open your mouth.

Swipe to see the 4 things that actually separate a tape casting directors remember from one they move past.

And if you’re serious about the craft, then follow @Dearrisingactor. That’s where we go deeper.

I walked into the National Arts Theatre for the first time in 2006 as an audience member.

Olarotimi Fakunle made sure I never left the same way again.

That night is the reason this book exists.

Becoming Unforgettable is out now. Comment ICONIC and I will send it to you or hit the link in my bio.

YOU DON'T NEED PERMISSION,
YOUR STORY IS YOURS TO TELL. 🎬

This time last week, I had the privilege of speaking to an amazing group of teenage filmmakers on Creating Your Own Path as a Filmmaker.

It was such a joy to share my journey, hear their dreams, and see that fire in their eyes to tell their own stories.

We talked about starting where you are, staying true to your process, finding your voice, facing your fears, evolving as a creative, and most importantly — telling the stories only YOU can tell.

@_seunajayi Great work you’re doing, sir. Thank you so much for the honour sir. 🙏

@reenumi & @mho_blaq , I’m forever grateful for the gift of your friendship. Thank you for all you do. I love you guys ❤️
The amazing @rhoda.inaju it was so nice seeing you again Sis.

We didn’t just run a bootcamp.
We lit it up.

Thank you, Ulanzi, for helping us spotlight the next generation of actors.

Preparing for this Bootcamp was a special Masterclass in trusting God! I had put things together, chased sponsors, marketed to parents and schools.

I knew when it was time to rest and let Him take the stage.

And then on the eve for Day 1, … Torrential rains all night! My stomach was in knots as I laid up in my bed. Thinking of the potential flooding, traffic etc…
We had a bit of a rocky start, but God showed up and showed out , Day 1 was a BLAST!

Tomi was such a pleasure to have speak with the Teens, it was amazing!

Dear @tomiojo_
Thank you so much for your generosity and good spirits! I owe you big time!
