Some bays rarely get cleaned simply because they’re so difficult to reach. 🌊

While anchored in a remote bay on the north coast of Santa Maria Island, we noticed quite a lot of rubbish that had washed ashore — plastic, fishing debris and all sorts of things that definitely didn’t belong there.

With this amazing crew of guests onboard, all it took was mentioning a beach clean-up and… suddenly we were on a mission! 😂⛵️

Everyone got involved, and what started as a little idea turned into one of the most fun and rewarding activity of the day…
And IT FEELS GOOD!!! 🥰❤️

Remote beaches can look untouched, but unfortunately ocean currents carry our waste everywhere — including places that are almost impossible to access from land. As sailors, we’re lucky enough to reach some of these places, and we also believe that comes with a little responsibility: leave them better than we found them.

So here’s our small contribution to Mother Nature. 🌍💙

And for those of you who know me… you know how much I like a clean boat and how terrified I am of sand onboard. 😂

Well… there was A LOT of sand involved this time, but I’ll admit it was absolutely worth it!

A thank you for the wildlife we’ve encountered and the winds that sailed us here!

Now there’s only one final part of the mission: getting everything safely back aboard EXPLORA and into port so it can be properly sorted and recycled. ♻️⛵️

Small actions, great people, beautiful places.

Go Where The Wind Will Take You — and leave only wake behind. 🌊

It’s true.

Has anyone ever done it? Nope.

Could this Saturday, Sept. 12th be the day? Never say never.

Sponsor shoutout to our friends at @elizapagejewelry for keeping a little extra incentive in the outfield.

Hey hey, El Rey!!
Big sponsor shoutout to our pals at @elreycourt the iconic, reimagined 1936 adobe motor court on historic Route 66 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. One of the Texas Playboys’ all-time favorite barnstorm stops and a proud supporter of what we’re building at The Long Time.

One of the coolest ways they support us? They help keep our ballpark nearly zero waste. Did you know the reusable cups you drink from on game day come from El Rey? Every cup is collected, washed, and put back into circulation after each game.

Here’s how it works:
After the game, you’ll find clearly marked waste stations throughout the grounds with four streams: Reusable Cups, Recycling, Compost, and Landfill. Every single item is then hand-sorted by our LT crew & @wastedisruptors to recover as many reusable cups as possible, eliminate contamination, and keep valuable materials out of the landfill.

The result? In 2025, we diverted nearly 90% of our waste away from the landfill. Special thanks to our green team! @wastedisruptors we couldn’t do it without you ❤️

Some Saturday scenes from our last Long Time Presents game before our summer break, against the @rchoneybusters captured by @shannon.southerland on June 6.

It’s been one hell of a first half. Thanks to everyone who came out to play, cheer, make music, sling drinks, cook food, chase foul balls, and make this magical place what it is.

Have a neat summer.
