Incredible to say the least. We had a few serendipitous moments tonight, first with Steph wearing my Baroness shirt. As we were hanging on the corner of the Earl, we see Brann walking around back with none other than John Baizley from Baroness - who would then go on to play half the set with the Mastodon guys.

Second, I was telling Steph how I’ve always wanted to catch one of Bill’s picks because I never do. She told me it was gonna happen tonight. Sure as shit, the sonuvabitch pegged me square in the chest with one right at the end of Blood and Thunder. Unreal. I think it’s safe to say that Steph is my good luck charm.

It was a powerful, emotional and moving evening and I’m glad so many of my friends (old and new) got to witness it with me. Long live the Mastodon!

HELP US WISH A HAPPY FUCKING BIRTHDAY TO ONE OF ATL’S MOST CHIVALROUS GOONS: JMO has been holding it down for us since day one, and today we are throwing down as hard as his namesake implies with a gatdang ‘nother PICKLE PARTY aka Sunday Funday Bloody Mary Smorgasbord. Starting at 2pm, all the fixings provided by the one and only @deathpickles (get your Death Pickles pickle backs at 529!), then tonight we have Elzig, Bigfoot, The Muckers and One Eyed Moon all keeping the party going. So pull up for our boy Jmo and let’s celebrate this big ol teddy bear’s 50th bday. You only turn half a century once goddamn it.

So, my milestone birthday party is coming up, and you’re all invited!! This will be a unique show for all involved, and I can’t wait!
I obviously have a little bit more of a personal connection to this poster, but even without all that I would rank this among my favorite designs. Just love the theme, colors and detail. So fun to create!

ATLANTA! We are turning 529 into a full immersive black light/ 3D GNOMONAUT experience for Jim Bob Cooter’s 50th birthday. September 11th, save the date and celebrate the man and brain behind some of the sickest and trippiest show flyers for Atlanta live music (and beyond).

His band, GNOMONAUT, are instrumental, heavy space prog and have a special, fully immersive experience planned, bringing their fluorescent stage production and props off the stage, and across the venue, turning 529 into an otherworldly dimension.

Joining these mad space travelers are Atlanta Black Sabbath worship @slacksabbathofficial , psychedelic post-sludgecore from @lungburneratl and dirty southern psych rock n roll @moonlusttheband

PLUS the full spread from @deathpickles
