Summertime Fling Alert! Today, the Jackies indulged in a 3-course brunch at the Polo Lounge complete with World Cup-themed cocktails to discuss SINNERS, Jackie Collins’s 1971 novel that was not only her first novel about life in Hollywood but also her only novel to be under three titles — first Sunday Simmons and Charlie Brick, next The Hollywood Zoo and, finally, Sinners in 1984. We loved the drama, the over the top characters, and the secret sex cult that almost destroyed LA! In other words, a universe that only our fair Jackie could create. Now for our BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: for the first time in Jackie Collins Book Club history, the Jackies are breaking tradition to embark on a summertime fling with a wild array of books that call for sunny days and hot moonlit nights. We believe these are the books you’d find in Jackie’s very own beach bag. Until then, much love from the Jackies ❤️❤️ #jackiecollins #jackiecollinsbookclub #thepololounge #bookclubbing #summertime

On Valentine’s Day, we show the dessert first!
Cookbook Club sequestered themselves away from the Valentine’s Day Madness and delved into the latest cookbook from @alisoneroman #somethingffromnothing and it was one of our best meals yet.

It simply isn’t the holidays until The Jackies have settled into a table at The Polo Lounge to discuss their latest read. In this case, it was the second half of Judith Krantz’s ‘Princess Daisy’ which did not disappoint. At all. We give this eighties saga 4.8/5 Jackies with only a couple of notes. Judith turns it out.
Vying for our attention was the over the top and festive air at the Beverly Hills Hotel, adorned with nutcrackers, pink Christmas trees, and enough holiday-themed cocktails to have us fa-la-la-ing. Add to that the Chestnut Souffle from the 12 Days of Souffles menu and you have the perfect scene for the Jackies to exchange gifts of secret beauty products (no we are not telling), framed iconic portraits from @mymulberryeye and – the best gift of all – custom made Christmas ornaments commemorating all of the books we’ve read in the club – 15 in total. Shout out to Jackie Stephanie for this brilliant gift.
And for all you Jackie Collins diehards, do not fret: the next book on our list is a deep cut from our most favorite writer of all.
Happy Holidays to All and here’s a to a New Year of reading, dining, shopping, and spending time with those who make us smile. XOXO The Jackies

This fall, the Jackies went Jackie-adjacent to read Collins’s fellow bonkbuster author Judith Krantz’s international bestseller, ‘Princess Daisy,’ a novel that has left the Jackies positively gobsmacked, in awe, at times stimulated, and savoring every word. This is our exclusive book club’s third time reading a Krantz-written novel and all we can say is that Judith is one hell of a writer and vocabularian. One Jackie even had to have the dictionary at their side as they read. Okay, that was me. There are words in this book that I had no idea existed. Between savoring the stories, falling in love with the characters, and looking up words, a couple of Jackies found themselves short on time and unable to finish, meaning that we will conclude our discussion during our Very Jackie Christmas Brunch in December. Just know that so far, this read gets 5 out of 5 Jackies for sure! TTFN, The Jackies. #jackiecollins #judithkrantz #princessdaisy #jackiecollinsbookclub #pololoungebeverlyhills #pololoungesouffle #idratherbereadingjackiecollins

The Jackies closed out 2024 with a fabulous dinner and a riveting discussion about “Rivals” the 80s bestseller from Dame Jilly Cooper. Unlike most Jackie Collins-adjacent novels, which read more as a saga spanning decades and in some cases generations, “Rivals” is a mid-80s time capsule with a broad cast of memorable characters. Don’t tell Dame Jilly, but this book was a tough one to get into for the Jackies. Truthfully, we’re all only halfway through but two things have provided great encouragement to make it to the finish line 1) a plot twist at the book’s midpoint that teases a promising payoff and 2) the @rivalsondisney series which beautifully brings Cooper’s characters and satire to life — we’re hooked! We’ll give a final rating of this book at our next Polo Lounge gathering. Special thanks to Jackie @deatroyer for a mint condition catalog from Jackie Collins’s “A Life in Chapters” auction (image 3). Happy 2025 and love to all from The Jackies. #rivals #rivalstvshow #bonkbuster #jillycooper #jillycooperbookclub #jackiecollins #jackiecollinsbookclub #thepololounge #thejackies

A Jackie Collins Book Club Field Trip! The Jackies set their latest bonkbuster aside to don wrap dresses for an evening of @therealdvf at Temple Israel in Hollywood featuring the entertaining and inspiring Hulu documentary "Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge," followed by a Q&A with documentary producer @happilyeveraftergood. All we can say is what an amazing and incredible woman DVF is. Some of our favorite lines include: "We Will Show Them," "It's Not How Old You Are, It's How Long You Have Lived," and, of course, the quote from her mother: "Fear is Not an Option." All in all a fantastic night that left the Jackies on the high of a lifetime. We all agree that we'll have this documentary on our regular rotation -- especially when times seem tough. Until next time, XOXO The Jackies. #womanincharge #dianevonfurstenberg #jackiecollins #bookclub #templeisraelofhollywood

The Jackies gathered last weekend to discuss Judith Krantz’s multigenerational saga “Mistral’s Daughter,” a NYT bestseller from 1982.

In the 1980s, the talented Judith Krantz and her contemporaries Queen Jackie Collins, Jilly Cooper, and Shirley Conran were categorized by the haters as “bonkbuster” authors, a play on the term “blockbuster” and the verb “to bonk.” But in true Jackie style, this slur only served to recognize the true power these books about independent, fearless, and often ridiculously rich women had on their readers. The women of “Mistral’s Daughter” were no exception, earning a coveted rating of 4.5 Jackies.

The Jackies learned that these books were also derogatorily called S&F Novels – an abbreviation for “Shopping and F*&king.” Just add indulging in an expensive lunch at The Polo Lounge to that equation, and you have The Jackies in a nutshell! XOXO The Jackies

After a fourteen-month hiatus and a lot of construction, Eddie and I once again have a kitchen and, with that, our beloved Cookbook Club returned with a salty, fiery bang with the help of @mollybaz ’s lively, flavorful, and completely sassy cookbook "More is More."

We loved everything so much that many of us had a tough time picking a favorite. 1) Spicy Coconut Green Beans and Mollz Ballz 2) Spicy Feta Dip with Charred and Pickled Pepps 3) Sizzled Seedy Tomato Salad 4) Spicy Green Fregola 5) Yummy Juice! 6) Ramen Noodles w/ Shrooms and Soy Butter 7) Crispy Pork Cutlets w/ Giardiniera Slaw 8) The Full Meal, including Rigatoni w/ Creamed Leeks and Chivey Breadcrumbs 9) Salted Citrus Shandy 10) Salted Malted Banoffee Trifle

It felt great to be back in the kitchen with fantastic friends and enjoying all these recipes together. Additional photo credits:

Jackie Collins Book Club Fun Fact: Two of our three club founders are Aries babies, which gave The Jackies yet another reason to celebrate last weekend.

We were thrilled to regroup after a few busy months and present Jackie Stephanie with an autographed copy of Judith Krantz’s Mistral’s Daughter, which will be the next book on our list. Stay tuned for a full report.

Until Next Time, The Jackies
