After another disappointing doctor's appointment, I really felt defeated. The epidural didn't do for me what I'd hoped and every solution had it's obstacles. I couldn't get my mind off the pain and the things that it gets in the way of. Out of everything that a person with chronic pain deals with, the isolation is what hurts me the most. The constant need to see doctors. The fear of making plans because you don't want to cancel on your friends or even worse suffering the consequences of having a good time days later. Feeling like there's another world out there that you're unable to be a part of. After making a few calls and wallowing in my disappointment, I had a moment of reflection. Instead of focusing on the things that I don't have or am unable to do, focus on the beauty of the blessings that I do have. God has blessed me with my sons and the real ones in my life that give me reason to step out. The ones who do whatever they can to remind me that I'm not alone on this wild journey called life. Remind me that there's joy to be found even in the darkest night of the soul. To all of you who've checked up on me, invited me out, or did anything to give me a reason to smile 😁, I say thank you. God reminds me that he's carrying me through, by giving me beautiful people like you. God bless.❤️

As a creative, I sometimes need to be reminded of who I am and what my purpose is. Ever since elementary school , I've been immersed in the arts. Whether it was acting, dancing, painting or poetry, it was a way to escape the hell that was my life. However, that hell is also the reason why I sometimes backed away from it . Over the years I have learned that my insecurities held me from sharing my work and in return didn't allow the message to be received by others. That's where I wasn't feeling joy in my work and walked away from it. I'm grateful to be surrounded by creatives in many different walks of life . When I'm in the funk like I am in now. I come across their work and they inspire me to keep creating. In these times it's a little harder to do. However, my mind keeps reminding me to not let my story end with me. May what I do help inspire others to do the same. May we all find purpose in the pain. ❤️

As someone who struggles with tremors it's really hard to do some of the creative things that I once use to do. Thanks to the many creatives that encourage others to keep creating, I have found a spark to the flame of creativity. I found a how to draw animals book so I thought why not give it a try 🤷 My biggest struggle since the tremors have progressed, is throwing away the idea of perfection out the door. That way of thinking is why I stopped creating. I wasn't finding joy in doing it anymore. It was negatively impacting my mental health instead of healing it. Now I'm embracing the imperfections. I love the cartoon ish look 😁 I hope to encourage others to do the same, by getting out of their comfort zones and do what they were meant to do. Thank you to all of the creatives out there who share their works or ideas. You're helping me find peace in my creativity once again. God bless you all.

Metro’s Cultural Day 2026.

I want to start by saying a huge thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy—whether you helped with setup, cleanup, entertainment, DJing, or hosting a table/preparing food. This event truly wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you.

I feel incredibly blessed to have such an amazing team of hardworking women who put in so much effort to make everything run so smoothly. I appreciate you all more than words can say! 💕 Big shoutout to @songbird455263 for taking amazing photos at Cultural day.

Getting away can help to change the way we see things. Less noise. More honesty. Real conversations. Shared struggles. A reminder that faith isn’t about feeling everything—it’s about taking the next step together. We are grateful for our Metro community and what God is doing in us.

To all of my people that have been down with me through the good and the bad times, I just want to say thank you. You've been a true blessing in my life when I needed it most. You may not realize the level of impact that you've had on me but I will never forget. We may not be able to see each other or talk often but you will forever be in my heart. May God bless you as much as you have been a blessing to me and so many others.❤️❤️❤️
People won't remember what you do.They won't remember what you say but they will remember how how you made them feel.

Free clothes, free shoes, free bikes… and a whole lot of love. Open Store isn’t about giving stuff away. It’s about reminding people they’re seen.

That they matter.

That community can you show up with open hands.

Thank you to everyone who donated, served, shopped, or simply smiled. We’re already looking forward to next time.

What does gratitude look like? 💙
At our Volunteer Banquet, the roles were reversed—our staff had the privilege of serving the ones who serve. From setting up decorations to plating meals, every detail was a small way to say thank you. Because without our volunteers, Metro wouldn’t be the same.
You show up, you give, you love—and this night was just a glimpse of how much you’re appreciated!
To every volunteer: You are valued. You are the heartbeat of this community.
